Ocean House, Carlsbad

The family and I wanted to take a drive and try somewhere new at the beach in Carlsbad. We stumbled upon Neiman's. Its right on the corner and the building is pretty unique as well. The brunch was reasonably priced with great food and service. I read the previous review and coundn't believe it was the same place. Two huge thumbs up

Went there for lunch and had a great experience. Food was fantastic, we had the coconut shrimp appetizer....so yummy and the accompanying sauce was delicious...sweet and a little spicy. My salad was fresh and generous, and my friend loved her crab melt. Waitress was very friendly and helpful...nice, casual beachy atmosphere. We will be going back for sure!

We used to love this place and we usually ate here twice per year. We recently came to their Sunday Brunch and found out that they misrepresented themselves over the phone. As an example, they told us that they had King Crab Legs for Brunch when they actually had Snow Crab Legs, which were much smaller. The quality of their food has gone downhill unfortunately, and their prices have gotten much more expensive since the new owners have taken over. I mentioned our concerns with the waitress and the manager and they didn't seem to care. We will not be returning, I am sorry to say. Jeff

Over-priced, outdated and ugly enviroment, waiter didn't know about the menu or care and said he had only been there for 2 weeks..eat somewhere else!! The food was horrible too

Crab Melt was tasteless, fries were unsalted, and service was MIA.

We went there for lunch and the food was moderately expensive for awful bland food that I could have made better at home and some chewy, overcooked and overbreaded calamari with a ketchup dip with a few specks of horseradish in it. We will never go back, and if I could turn back time, I'd go elsewhere for sure.

This place is a little over rated. The drinks are over priced, and there service is ok. Not my favorite. For food I would rather walk across the street and get a burrito, and around the corner to get a drink.

We went there over a year ago and the food was amazing! We had swordfish sandwiches with fruit salsa, so delicious. However, we went back last week and they had changed their menu.. And their prices! Not sure what happened, but the food wasn't so great. I don't think we'll be going back, sadly.
