BAD SERVICE + MEDIOCRE FOOD + HIGH PRICES = BAD EXPERIENCE After reading the other reviews about this restaurant, I was surprised to see how many other people had experiences similar to ours. We had reservations but were still made to wait 20 minutes...were stood awkwardly in the entryway for ten minutes or so until we were told we could wait in the lounge (we'd never been there before so we didn't know how things worked). The hostess was short (I mean in attitude, not height) and didn't apologize for our wait. The drinks at the bar were overpriced, and this was at five o'clock which is usually a happy hour in most restaurants. The salad bar is small and has only the most basic things. The dressings weren't labeled so it was a guessing game as to which was bleu cheese and which was ranch. The plates for the salad bar are small. You can order the salad bar as your meal if you want, but for $15 it's very overpriced. Sizzler's salad bar is much better. The entrees were nothing to write home about: my father's prime rib was under-cooked, my crab legs were under-done, and my sister ordered a $20 dinner that amounted to a plate of spaghetti with red sauce. Cheese bread is included with the meal and it was mediocre at best, and if you want more you have to ask for it. Our service was slow and our waiter was inattentive. We waited for long periods of time without seeing him at all. There was even a problem with the men's bathroom: the door to the bathroom opened in such a way that any person standing outside can see directly in to the urinal area so that basically, the whole world can see you peeing. (This is the main bathroom located right in the entryway). For a restaurant that charges such high prices and boasts valet parking, I expected MUCH more. People always mention the view when talking about this restaurant, but if you want a view eat somewhere else and then drive to one of the many places in the surrounding area that offers a nice view. The view isn't THAT great to make up for all the other problems. I've had better food and service experiences at Denny's for one tenth the price.

Dont get me wrong, if your looking to take out a hot date to a nice place, the mining company is your place. Its is a very romantic, personal, and soft ambiance. Will she like the food? I hope so. The food is ok but for a steak house I would expect much beter. Their salad bar is prety good but thats about it. I think its way over priced, and the portions arent big enough. To be honest, the only reason I keep coming back to this place is because of the ambiance and the view.

I have been going to the PVMC for years. It has some charm to it as it as been around for a long time. There are some nice views of the valley and the food is good to very good. It is a great place for small to large groups as they have ample seating and a banquet room as well. I would recommend you check it out at least once.

The day after our post reunion committee brunch we realized that we were changed for a couple that wasn't with our party, I called the next day and asked to either be reimbursed or credited for the 2 meals they charged us for, and the couple we were charged for paid for their meal themselves, so the PVMC pocketed and extra 50 bucks for that meal! I was told the next day that there was nothing they could do about it, and it happens all the time!! they didn't even try to compensate us, that's cheating!!

Food was quite tasty. Meat very tender and flavorful. Service left a lot to be desired. Considering their prices are relatively high, one would think the service would be outstanding...Not so. We had barely started our salads when the main course was delivered to the table. No. 1 problem. Then when the left overs were packaged, they were delivered to the wrong people, who didn't find it out until they got home. Number 2 problem. We never saw the waiter when we needed him and always had to track him down. He mumbled and we had a very difficult time understanding him. It was not a pleasant experience. Go into Los Angeles and go to Lawry's Prime Rib where service is perfected!

I enjoyed my experience, view was ok, there's just too much smog to enjoy the view. Service was just ok. Food YUMMY! Spirits... great, highly recommend the Mondollo. (That might be mispelled.) Overall, nice treat.

I have had better for less...

We had reservations and arrived on time but were made to wait 40 min to be seated......The food was nasty with small portions and a gross under stocked salad bar. The service was terrible, rude and un accomodating.. I guess the only thing going for the place is the view, that is if you like a view of the freeway, a gas station and some houses........
