Today was my first day trying this small Mexican restaurant that I have been curious about for years now and sadly I will not be returning. The waitresses lacked personality and character, and had little to offer with food suggestions or in describing the menu items. Service was acceptable, but it left one wanting to tip only 10%, which is a rarity with me as I usually tip at least double that for quality service. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, which had little or no flavor, and were additionally drenched in grease that one could easily see layered across the bottom of the pan in which it was served. We found ourselves searching frantically through the bell peppers and onions to locate the few shrimp that defined our dish as a shrimp course. The beans and rice were served on a hot place but were not hot themselves, and the beans were very lardy. We did not, nor could, finish more than half of the shared item as within a matter of minutes we both began to feel ill from the food. I had to visit the ladies room to vomit before I could leave the restaurant and my other half barely made the drive home himself before running to the bathroom. We are both suffering the ill effects of Montezuma's revenge or like symptoms. When informed that the shrimp and food did not taste right and that we were filling sick from it they did little to apologize or make amends, and we were still expected to pay for our uneaten and most likely contaminated food. All restaurants encounter the risk of customers possibly getting food poisoning sometime within the course of their business but it is how they handle the situation and treat their customers that makes the difference. They showed no concern nor remorse for us or how instantly ill we had become and from my perspective as a frequent diner that is something all customers should avoid.
