Guadalajara Grill is a fun and frolic Mexican eatery that has a bright decor. The ambiance is perfectly set by the use of royal colors. The cuisine served is authentic Mexican along with tequila which is traditionally paired with the food. Go for the lunch buffet on weekdays or on Sunday when they also host the mariachi show. Try their hand-made tortillas, waffles, steaks, crab legs, enchiladas, fajitas and a lot more. Enjoy some cocktails and more drinks with your meal. Their services also include catering and hosting private events. Check website for details.
I will NEVER go to this restaurant again. I received horrible service and was discriminated against. My husband and went here for good food and margaritas. We ordered two margaritas and told the waiter what we wanted in them, it took the waiter a little longer to understand because their was a language barrier and then he said, Oh you want skinny margaritas and he told us what was in them we said yes, that s right. When our margaritas came they clearly had orange juice in them and were not skinny margaritas. We kindly asked our waiter if we could get the margaritas we ordered and he tried to tell us those were the margaritas we ordered. I explained to him that I tasted orange juice and could see the orange juice in the margarita and he continued to argue with me and say that the bartender had just squeezed an orange in the drink. I told him regardless that was not what we ordered. The waiter was clearly upset and took our drinks back to the bar tender. We could see the waiter and the bartender talking and looking back at our table and then smirking. When our new drinks came back they were definitely skinny, but had absolutely no tequila in them, they were just lime juice and water. Then our waiter ignored us the rest of the time and had another waiter bring us our food and check. Worst experience I ve ever had at a restaurant!
The food and show were excellent! The staff was wonderful! The best mexican food in LA. REAL authentic food not the americanized type. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Reading these comments was surprising, I can't imagine, how people don't expect to pay good money for GOOD food. Come on everyone, for me it was WELL worth it!
Went here last n ight on a recommendation and were we ever sorry! $4 per drink , a side of guacamole for $13 !! The menu was WAY overpriced, I've never seen mex food prices so high. Plus, there was a piece of hair in the tiny salsa dish.. DISGUSTING!!! The food was just average at best, we should've just got up and walked over to Sizzler, it would've been better food, more variety, and cheaper!!!
Being the nice guy, give people a chance type person that I am, I was wondering if all of the negative posts were simply a trick from the local competitors who were ragging on a better joint, with the hopes of luring people away from the Grill. Let me say this . . . Every negative post is 100% dead on. To start, what's with the minimum price of $18.00 per person? Second. what's with the worst tasting mexican food I have ever eaten? I'll go to Taco Bell or Dell Taco before I ever eat their food again. Ok, now for the disclaimer. I am as white as rice (white rice), but I have been married to a Latina for over 20 years and have been exposed to home made mexican food, as well as Mexican food in Durango, Dgo Mexico. So If you do not want to take my review, look at the barely touched plates of my brother-in-laws, my sister-in-law, my wiffe- who are all 1st generation Americans. If that is not enough, look at my mother-in-law and father-in-law's plate. Only 1/4 of the plate was eaten.
Now I have a beef with the Mariachi performers, all mariachi performers for that matter. Having studied music, having had many simultaneous private music teachers, there is one thing that I can say with absolute authority. Just because you play as loud as you can does not make the music good. It seems that each musician is trying to be louder than the next. Add to that, the fact that you sit within feet of the stage, directly under the speakers, which only makes the music louder, really ruins an already ruined meal.
So in a nut shell, only go there if it is the last place on earth to eat, and only after all of the bugs, snails, and poisonous plants have snice disappeared. If and only when does that happen should you go in there and eat.
I am a private citizen who is not representing anything other than the preservation of all human taste buds and the good honor that Mexican Food should be attributed with.
We ate as cheap as we could, 6 adults and one child. Tax and Tip along with a bad taste from the food and ringing ears from the painfully loud music - $164.00
I call this the Mexican version of Mideveal Times. You are not going there for the food, but for the show (which I say that with great reservation)
The least they could have done was offer some tasty mints as we walked out the door.
Oh well, it could have been worse. On second thought, nope. It was the worst.

If you're even considering going to this place, just read the last couple of reviews. I'm Mexican and this was the worst experience I have ever had. Terrible service! Any drink is $4 with no refills. No free tap water?! Management clearly thinks they can provide the worst service and get away with it and they do. I saw the manager standing around looking smug at everyone and not caring about anything. If you go there and wait more than 20 minutes, just get up and leave. You'll be doing yourself a favor and screwing them over like they will soon screw you over. Hey, I know. Let's harass the customers every 5 minutes trying to sell them flowers, pictures, or cd's. WOW! This place must have been good at one point but they must be under new management. If you go here and think that everything they do is right then just walk in, give them all your money and walk out. You'll gain nothing worth what you pay and walk out feeling empty and with empty pockets. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!
THIS RESTAURANT IS THE WORST. I TRYED TO EAT THERE ON MOTHERS DAY. AND THE SERVICE WAS VERY BAD. EVERYTHING IS OVER PRICED. FOOD HAS NO TASTE. COULD NOT GET ANY BODY TO HELP US WITH DRINKS, PEPPER, SALT, OUR FOOD WAS VERY COLD AND TASTE LESS. WE WANTED TO LEAVE BUT IT WAS ALREADY LATE AND SINCE WE HAD ALREADY WAITED CLOSE TO 1/2 HOUR FOR THE FOOD. 20MIN TO GET IN WE WERE JUST HUNGRY. SORRY TO SAY THAT WE LEFT FEELING SICK AND ANGRY. THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. WE SPENT OVER $450.00 ON WHAT WAS SOPPOSE TO BE FOOD AND TOTALY REGRETED IT. I DON'T MIND SPENDING MONEY ON SOMETHING GOOD. BUT TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. IT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE CALLED A GRILL MUCH LESS A MEXICAN RESTAURANT. I HAVE GONE TO ACAPULCO OR EL TORRITO AND HAD A MUCH MORE PLESENT TIME. TRUST ME YOU DON'T WANT TO EAT IN THIS PLACE CALLED GUADALAJAR GRILL. I STILL FEEL CHEATED AND SOMEWHAT ANGRY FOR HAVING WHAT WAS SOPPOSE TO BE A FAMILY DAY, TURN OUT TO BE A DISSAPOINTMENT THANKS TO THEIR BAD ATTITUDE AND SERVICE.
This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to, BAR NONE. The food is the worst, one bite is all it took, I have tasted better Mexican food in Kentucky!.
Everything is Way Over Priced, the won't even give you water, excuse me for $ 4.00 a bottle they will. No refills on drinks, and they want to sell you everything from CD's to roses, pictures and the kitchen sink.
You are packed like sardines in this place with no breathing room. I could go on and on, but trust me on this one save your money, your sanity and your stomach...
There is no 0 rating or minus because that's where it deserves to be.
Where do I start? Hmmm lets say this was the first time that we went here... there was a group of 12 of us that were meeting there for a friends birthday. The place is decent and the music was good but thats where it ended. Problem #1 - Sodas/Ice teas are almost FOUR DOLLARS each without refills. I dont have a problem with the price but no refill? How are you suppose to enjoy the spicy salsa without something to wash it down? Well then water it is BUT WAIT thats my next issue... Problem #2 - THEY DONT GIVE YOU FREE WATER (You know the tap stuff) nope. You have to buy a bottled water at almost four dollars each. Our server said that the management does not allow it and apologized profusely... Problem #3 - The manager could have cared less. Just gave us our bill without asking what the problem was. So all in all we spent FIFTY DOLLARS for eight drinks and 3 kids drinks. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT 0 Stars if I could have.
This place is HORRIBLE!!! Regular drinks like soda and horchata are $3.79 and they don't give you refills. If you want a refill they charge you for another drink. They also don't give you water!!! That is just ridiculous. If you want water you have to buy bottled water. Their service is horrible. They bring you a basket of chips and salsa when you first sit down, but never offer to refill it for you. Believe me, I am Mexican, and I know what real Mexican food tastes like. This food doesn't come close and it is way overpriced. They do have free mariachi shows several times a week, so I guess they feel like they can get away with overpricing their food and offering rude service. You can just see the greed in their eyes. They are so money hungry they come around selling whatever they can...CDs, roses, pictures, etc. Please save yourself some bucks and go somewhere else. There are many fine Mexican restaurants where you can get great food, friendly service, and free refills and water.
