I like this place. The manager/owner(?) seems very nice and it's a very comfortable, clean restaurant. The food that I've sampled (i.e. vegetable tamale, barley soup) was very tasty. I'll make a point to eat there regularly as it's the type of place I like to support...if ya know what I mean.
Oh man !! this place was AMAZING !!!!
Fresh delicious food! I loved the Carnitas Tacos and Chicken Mole!! my girl had the breaded steak i took a bite and sent me to heaven!
Service was great! i am fo shizzy going back!!! i went yesterday and im headed back after work today!
Vegetarian people out there, you better plan a trip here cause its worth it!!!!!!
I love tamales but being a vegetarian, it's hard to find a Mexican restaurant that does not use lard to prepare tamales. One night my sister had a craving for tamales and she did a search on Google and found Cinnamon Vegetarian Restaurant. What a big surprise to find out that they are the REAL deal and especially in East Los Angeles. We were happy to find out that they do NOT use any animal products whatsoever. Their food is delicious. l especially love the cheese tamales and the sopes, but the tamales rock!
I recommend this restaurant to those seeking a vegetarian restaurant. It's charming inside but the ambience could be a little better. The servers are nice enough and accommodating, but not cheery enough. Maybe some jazzier music and smile but other than that I highly recommend it, especially the cheese tamales.
I enjoyed the very authentic flavors of this delicious adorable restaurant. It is very remnant of the health food restaurants you would find in Latin America, with all the flavor and 100% healthy. If you are looking for great light food, with authentic fresh flavors go there. Have a Canelazo (strong cinnamon tea)afterwards, it makes the food settle just right!
A group of eight friends went to Cinnamon for a Birthday/Earthday gathering on Sunday, April 22. We had a great time there. The staff was very attentive, and helped make it a special occasion for the birthday boy. We brought our own wine and decadent cake but the owner had a special vegan cake for our friend as well as recorded birthday music and candles for the cake.
All of the food was good and almost everyone in our party ordered something different. We did not have a long wait and the service could not have been better and friendlier.
We ended up there almost three hours, but not because of bad service - rather the fact that we were enjoying ourselves so much.
I ate at Cinnamon when it first opened and I believe everything about this novel place in Highland Park has improved. This was our experience.
I urge anybody that did not have such good service or did not find the food appealing to go back and give it another chance. We do not have anything healthy like this place in the neighborhood so we need Cinnamon!
