La Tolteca is a tradition for our generation in the City of AZUSA! Always the same great food at great prices! Chips n Salsa are always great! For those that are not from AZUSA and not remember the original La Tolteca prob just won t get it.... My advise, go some place else and leave our area natives favorite eatery to us! We dont live in the area anymore but are raising a new generation of customers to keep their doors open for a very long time!
If i can give it a negative star I would!!!! We have lived in Azusa for 2 years and have always driven by La Tolteca and finally decided to stop by for dinner....biggest mistake EVER! My family hated the flautas, carne asada burrito, and carnitas burrito. The only good thing I had was the chips. NEVER AGAIN will I go in for the food. NO FLAVOR on any of the meats or beans. We had take out and waited 20 minutes and nobody was in front of me...hmmm!!!
WTF?!?!? I went to LA TOLTECA because I was in the mood for a BIG messy tasty burrito, and I was in the area, so I thought I would stop into LA TOLTECA, I knew it would pricy but I didn't care, as long it was good I was willing to spend the $$$, but OMG!!!! no taste, no flavor, no seasoning, I waited for about 15 minutes for my take out WTF????, that was $14.00 wasted for a burrito and a large tea. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SET FOOT IN THAT ESTABLISHMENT. Now I know where the ALBERTOS cooks went to.
Horrible.....don't go....I always enjoyed the food when it was located on Azusa ave and way back....I'm talking the 70's-80's.....I stopped last nite....the coffee served up was sitting around for hours.....they didn't even offer to make any fresh stuff....The taco wasn't even warm enough to melt any of the cheese iinside it....the rice wasn't even up to the health dept temps required....and the chili verde UGH!!! pieces of hard and dried out/tasteless bits of pork in a mound of green chili...All served at regular sit down restaurant prices....At least Carls's jr employees keep asking how everything is....not here....they don't care anymore..
We used to come here for take out tortillas, but after seeing the pro Vulcan campaign sign in the front, we will not be coming back. A retail establishment should know better than to take sides against the will of the residents.
I came here with high expectations due to rave reviews by friends and left with a nearly empty stomach. This is authentic Mexican food? The chips were good, but I found my enchiladas and rice to be lacking. There are several other Mexican restaurants close by that have good food... go to any of those instead of LA Tolteca.
Well...I am Mexican and have been eating at tolteca for years. I have never waited more then 15 mins anytime i go. I also recieve great service. The food is great,The people are great, and the prices are great!
*Sounds to me like there are some haters out there!!!
OH AND HATERS EAT AT CHA CHA'S OR MAYBE TACO BELL IS MORE YOUR TASTE!!!!!!!!
I've been going to La Tolteca ever since I was a kid,I'm 22 now. the food is okay, the chips and salsa to DIE for!!! Shame that the customer service sucks though, and almost everyone that works there looks like there in Highschool, probably the main reason the service is bad....
