Their snow rolls are excellent. Everything else I tried was pretty mediocre. The ambience and service was great. Snow rolls are the best things ever.

Decent sushi

I've been there a couple times and the service was decent. The food was also decent when I went and didn't have any problems.

A great place to eat
By ,
Wonderful service and great food. I don't know when the folks complaining of freshness went, but they should have said something. The staff there is more than willing to make sure you enjoy your meal - they please a very picky friend of mine on a regular basis. And you can't beat the price for the portions! Ignore any mentions of health code issues - the place has been totally remodeled (a little plain but I'm there to eat, not gawk) and new management has taken over since then. Highly recommended.

Ugh

Ditto on the not fresh fish. I am a sushi snob, but I will never go back to Octopus. Fuji Khan accross the street has much better selection and offers a huge step up in quality at the same price. The best sushi joint in Burbank though is around the corner at Sushi Zono. Might be a tad pricier, but they have the freshest fish in the valley. Period. Great menu, great service.

Even the Iron Chef Bade Us Farewell
By ,
Excellent restaurant. I am very picky when it comes to sushi. My wife suggested it and I resisted going until she said her friend really liked it and I know her friend is pickier than I am. Upon entering, the smell was very fragrant; it teased my tastebuds. Everyone was good looking, genuinely happy and very well groomed. Atmosphere was brighter than usual for a restaurant but that was something to accentuate the bright colors of the sushi. The food. THE Food. THE FOOD! As mouth watering as I wished it would be. It was PERFECT! I've never had such great sushi! I got the Sushi Plate B with the octopus and the eel, white fish, yellowtail, salmon and tuna rolls. I inhaled it all. When the waiter came by to pick up our plates, I was very protective of my last remaining tuna roll. When we were finished, I felt not at all full but very satisfied. The sushi had a very pleasing texture to bite into and I could tell all the fish I was eating was alive earlier that day. The price was completely acceptable, my wife and I paid only 32 bucks for a huge amount of food. When the bill came, the customer copy was stapled to the receipt with the owner copy by itself. Yet another special touch. This is a very special place. GO!

Best Sushi In Town
By ,
I've been to many other japanese restaurant, but Octopus is the best. The service is great. All drinks are refillable plus all the ginger I want. It's not a fancy restaurant ( if you want fancy, goto Beverly Hills) but if you are looking for a great deal at the best price, ambiance, service, and food; Octopus is the place.

Good Food for Sushi Lovers
By ,
Good selection, good service, and I like the choice of meats available on the terriyaki platter. Ambiance is good as this location in Burbank recently remodelled. Servers are friendly and the restaurant can prepare a to-go meal as well as the in-house meals. If you've just finished working out across the street at World Gym or just finished tanning at the salon next-door, this is a convenient place to go for a bite to eat. Free, covered parking is two doors down in a parking structure. Haven't tried any of their other locations.

Creativity does make up for mediocre service...
By ,
Their menu has quite unique plates. Unfortunately, that's about the only outstanding asset Octopus has. The layout of the tables and settings are boring and very bit as regularly-shaped as the box-like look of the restaurant. The food servers all seem quite inexperienced. Just like most other Japanese joints in Southern California, this place is just a pricey. But, there isn't a single factor here that makes me forget how much I'm paying for a meal 'coz I'm looking and waiting for something extraordinary to make the whole experience near worthwhile.
