A testament to good Japanese food in general
I first went to Ahi Sushi in 2004. Since then, I have found very few sushi restaurant that surpass the quality and poignant taste of the fish at Ahi. Their nigiri sushi is some of the tastiest and freshest fish that you can find in the valley.
Another highlight of Ahi, and probably their best kept secret, is their Omakase dinner. Ask Jimmy to take care of you, and he'll serve you some of the best food, ranging from soups and salads to cooked fishes to sashimi cuts. It's amazing how big and extensive his entree menu is. And believe me, he has more that's not on the menu, those for hardcore Japanese food lovers only.
Give it a try, under the condition that you take most of Jimmy's recommendations, and you'll be highly pleased.
Some of my favorite dishes from past experiences: scallop and asparagus baked with mayo on shell, blue crab roll, the blue fin tuna, toro, albacore, sea scallop, ankimo, live conch, soft shell crab, baked white fish with shitake mushroom and cream sauce, sashimi salad...the list goes on and on.
