Roman's, Sherman Oaks

This place is awful. I used to work here and the food is re-used, almost never fresh and very little concern for cleanliness. Anyone who eats here, good luck. I've seen the inside and I wouldn't take free food if it was forced into my hand.

Based upon all of the rave reviews as well as a coupon I got in the mail, I decided to try this place out. The food was not good. The decor and service were pretty good, but the food was not tasty and was dry. We ordered a french dip and cheese burger, both were bad. The french dip was dry and the au jus was very salty and lacked flavor.

This place has a little bit of everything and which is healthier then most and always tastey.

I have been couple of times for casual lunch and also bakery for afternoon snack. It is clean, inexpensive and good food the grilled seafood salad is to die for.

They have the best heathly sandwiches

When you come to Roman's for a sandwich (huge menu, try any of their press rolls for a lower-carb treat), don't miss the little cafe/pastry counter tucked away on the east side of the restuarant. You can enjoy dessert here after your meal with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee. Pastries are in one case, cakes by the slice in another. Whole cakes and tarts by special order (skip the supermarket sheet cake for your next birthday party -- you'll get a much nicer dessert here for about the same price). Expect to pay $2-3 per person for dessert. Pricier than Porto's for sure, but with a French pastry chef on the premises, Roman's is in a class by itself.

Roman's is one of my favorite places in the Valley. I think of it as the Swiss Army Knife of local restaurants. Need to grab a tea and scone on your way to work? No problem. Want a nice place to sit with a friend and share creme brulee over capuccinos? Feel like grabbing a unique wrap for a quick lunch? Want to take the in-laws some place cheap but decent? Roman's it is. It's a jack of a trades, AND a master at several. Their fruit tarts and plain scones count among the best I've ever had, and their stroganoff wrap has to be inhaled to be appreciated. Roman's offers unique fare, spiced up with lemon caper sauce or a free side-salad bar, which offers fresh and delicious garnishment to whatever meal you order. I can't help but feel their sandwiches are a little overpriced (avg. sandwich is about eight dollars), but maybe I'm still just getting used to Los Angeles. Also, their hired hands occasionally leave a little to be desired, and often seem like teen relatives of distant owners: happy to have a job, but really just hanging out until school starts up. Nevertheless, a place which can offer so much can't be PERFECT (yet), so these faults are very forgivable. Don't consider yourself a Venturaite until you've become very familiar with Roman's many offerings!

loved the food the chilli fries alittle dry but delicious especially loved the garbanzo beans in them the steak sandwhich very tasty loved the seating on inside and especially outside loved the pastrys had a few all out of this world loved the coffee live in hollywood only was worth the visit to sherman oaks cant wait till hollywood location opens have been telling everyone about it for the last three months and they all want to eat there thanks for having outstanding food and great yet fast service in hollywood you'll be a hit for no matter what time of day you are there youll have business and constant business for some of us we anticipate a place with good food for i am single and constantly eat out so i will be there many days and nights keep it up you're great! also love the concept of your place it has a bit of everything which alot of us look for and your food is health oriented i guess starbucks at sunset and la brea will lose me to you for i love you
