Great Greek (The)
This is hands-down the best Greek place in the entire San Fernando Valley. The large menu offers many wonderful choices and, on weekend nights, live music is accompanied by the lively staff members dancing traditional jigs from their homelands. Just make sure you do not sit too near the band or the dance floor. The pita bread is shipped in from back East and it is incredible, and there is an extensive selection of imported Greek wines too.
This is an excellent restaurant with entertainment. A fun place. Why should takeout be be as expensive as a sit down meal? Because you get the same food which costs the same amount of money to prepare and it is packaged for you. Excellent food. Enjoy!
Yesterday, 7/12/08 I odered a take out dinner. I was told it will be ready in 20 min and it was. the food was perfect, as expected, well packaged. My only suggestion/complaint would be the price. Why should take out cost as much as the menu price where you sit down, use the plates, the table cloth, live servers, music, etc.
I think that a take out price should be 20-30 % cheaper than the regular menu price. For the restaurant it is really much more simple to sell.

Reminds me of Greektown in Detroit. Fabulous, good food and people. We have had parties, a wedding rehearsal dinner, family and business dinners there. We get lunch for the office at least once a week.
Very authentic place. There were people that even got up and started dancing. The waiter took a while to ask for our drinks/order, but once we gave the order the food came really fast. they give you free bread, but i recommend you wait and eat their pita bread.
Our jaunt from Lancaster to The Great Greek was a Anniversay treat from our daughter.
Being of Greek heritage and years of cooking and baking Greek dishes myself, I am a tough critic when it comes to Greek restaurant dishes impressing me.
For appitizers we had the Saganaki and Tarama, both were excellent! For the main course I had the Shrimp with artichokes/Avgolemono sauce. Hubby had the Greek Platter.
We were both very impressed, delicious authentic Greek food, excellent and perfectly timed service by our very pleasant waiter!
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff.
I must say The Great Greek is an all around outstanding restaurant! Bravo!!
Thank you for a wonderful Anniversay dinner!
