It's an O.K. sushi bar
So, the sushi chef/owners aren't Japanese. (Not necessarily a bad thing -- many good sushi bars in SoCal nowadays are owned and operated by Koreans.) As for Genki, however, the sushi was just average. Except for the toro -- it was stringy. The chef wasn't friendly (nary a smile from him the entire time we were there -- to us or to other patrons) and that dampened our dining experience. This isn't a place for the true sushi connoisseur.
