Whenever you have a bad experience at a store/restaurant,tell the Manager because he/she wants to know.If you do not give them a chance to improve their service,it falls on you.Unless you give the manager a chance, keep your mouth shut.
I really enjoy this restaurant and the food is very good. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years. The only thing, in the past 5 years there is a lack of good service. For example, yesterday my granddaughters and I sat unattended for about 20 minutes, no chips or salsa, not even water or napkins! Servers walked by without acknowledging, while our assigned waiter who had seen us sitting in his section, stood by chit chatting with another co-worker. I tried to get the hostess to help us, but she kept walking. So, we decided to take our business elsewhere.
I hadn't eaten here in some time, as I usually go to family run restauants, not chains. My Brother and his wife love the place so My wife and I met them for dinner. I was really pleased that I did.
I had a margarita that I thoroughly enjoyed. They actually prepared it to please the customers. Good flavor and the alcohol was apparent. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my dinner. I had a beef taco, chile relleno, and tamale w/rice and beans. It was by far the best mexican restaurant meal I have eaten in a long long time. It harkened back to memories of La Fonda on Colorado in the 50's. Or of Ernie's in Eaglerock, or Ernie's take out on PCH by Doheney in the 60's. Of course, the place was full of patrons as it always is. Why wouldn't it be . . great food! Thanks Don Cuco's
The clerk at our hotel recommended this restaurant while we were traveling south. We both had a chicken enchilada ala carte and they were good and full of chicken. I had a side of rice with mine and my husband had beans. My test for a good Mexican restaurant is their rice. Theirs was good. Another reviewer mentioned they get top price and I must agree. My husband had one beer with his meal and our total was over $25. Probably wouldn't stop there again.
The prior reviewers are insiders or overly generous. The food at the various cucos establishments is sub par. Stewed boiled wet meats, not drained. Lots of undesirables in your food like fat and bone fragments. Beware of anything served at happy hour. Its plate scrapings reconstituted into freebies for the bar fies. Their margaritas are made with the lowest end tequila on the planet and at times i have been served them with wine as the alcohol base. Horrific. Of course they are getting top dollar. The projection tv was broken in there for 12-14 years without them replacing it if that tells you anything.
ok so its a bit tacky inside but the food makes up for it. I love the tacos and the seafood enchilada. Very friendly staff. The place is getting due for an update and a bit of a thorough cleaning, so hopefully not long for that. The it will be very good indeed.
