Grab a number and get in line - you will be glad that you did. Close to the popular Glendale Galleria , this extremely busy Cuban-style deli may seem a bit chaotic at first, but that is because people know a good thing when they have tasted it. This eatery serves up some of the most unique and tasty sandwiches and baked goods around. Its unusual Potato Sandwich, made with beef, sounds strange but tastes fabulous. Well worth it, most people say. Credit cards are not accepted.
RUDE! Every time I call to place an order (and I place very large monthly orders for our company) the people that answer the phone are rude and unprofessional. Don't believe me? Try calling. I tried to report the person that told me off over the phone and called back a few times... she kept hanging up on me and no one would help me out. And I just wanted to place an order. I counted on this company for our Business gathering and they weren't there when I most needed them. Porto's might be tasty, but they are BAD FOR BUSINESS!
This bakery/cafe' is a great spot to grab some great pastelitos or croquetas if you are suffering from 'Cuban Food withdrawal' as I have been! The lunch is okay, their ropa vieja sandwich is not the best compared to Miami food like La Carreta, but it definitely suffices for your cravings. This place is very Americanized, so don't be shocked if they don't know what Jupiña is. Still a great place to get pasteles and sweets that are very traditional Cuban. I'm Cuban myself and I'm there quite often for guava pastries!
I've gone to this restaurant several times. Very good food, though everytime I go its always busy (of course because there good), the lines go fairly quickly even during the lunch or dinner times. The bakery side no complaints there. I'd recommend this
Ok i have to say one thing for sure ! Porto's is the best! Absolutely No doubt about it. I drive the 2 hours from San Diego just to eat here. Porto's could possible be the best Cuban Bakery in the country and I should know.....I'M CUBAN! The food just as good if not BETTER then any place in Miami. I lost a few pounds when I left Miami 8 years ago but when I go to Porto's I gain it all back and man is it worth it. It's a little piece of my culture sitting in the middle of Glendale. The fact that the prices are Awesome and low, with the food being exceptionally fabulous doesn't hurt either! It definitely worth the visit by far! My suggestion for you are the guava and cheesecake pastries and the cuban sandwhich!
I was lucky enough to enjoy a sandwich from PORTO'S a few days ago. What a yummy surprise! I'm from Lake Tahoe and my only regret is that there isn't one near me! WOW!! CUDO'S TO YOUDO'S!! I'll be back!! I want to thank my friends for being so wonderful and taking me there!!!
