A modern take on the classic American steakhouse, Arroyo Chop House is one of only a few restaurants in Southern California that serves exclusively USDA Prime beef. This strikingly handsome restaurant, inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural style for which Pasadena is famous, is clad in rich mahogany and the cozy booths are bathed in seductive light. Our steaks are aged and hand cut daily and then perfectly seared in a 1,500 degree oven. Traditional steakhouse side dishes include creamed spinach, baked potatoes, asparagus spears with hollandaise sauce, and Arroyo Chop House's famous onion rings. We also offer live Maine lobster and fresh fish, Alaskan King Crab legs, fresh oysters, and shrimp. Compliment your meal with a bottle from our award-winning wine list and finish the night with one of our delicious desserts such as a Grand Marnier souffle, warm apple pie, butterscotch pudding or chocolate pecan pie.
Since I started to eat fine dining 5 years ago, I started at the Claim Jumpers and worked my way up to the FINEST of the FINEST in CA. Ex. Sonas, Patina, The Kitchen (Sac), Danny Denko (SF) Georges at the Cove (SD) Valentinos and the list goes on! Can't forget Pacific Dining Car
The only place that I have never had a bad experience and have been there more than 30 TIMES and will continue to go is the ARROYO CHOP HOUSE.

It was unfortunate to experience the snooty service. I have to say this is one of the worst service I have ever experienced. I have read some bad reviews and to find out that it is completely true was a shock. Yes, I believe the General Manager and the Hostess need to take some customer service training classes. I will be writing a letter to the owner due to their unprofessional service. I've been to their affilliate restuarant, Parkway Grill and the service and food was excellent. I would not recommend Arroyo Chop House. The food was just ok. Not much taste..pretty bland.
General manager: Mr. Smith needs to find a new general manager. The current general manager, Kirchen, has attitude problem. He doesn't know how the reservation system works. He is not professional at all. He doesn't apologize for his mistakes nor care about customers. I had the worst experience ever.
Hostess: Hostess has attitude problem as well.
Waitress: Waitress was friendly but too slow.
Food: Food was good but I wouldn't say it's the best.
Environment: Good live music but noisy background. I feel sorry for the pianist.
this is the best steak i've ever had. seriously. even better than sizzler. it's THAT good. true, this place is a bit pricey, but if you're not willing to ante up, there's a reason why you're always eating at carrows. highly recommended.
A friend raves about this place, so I went there for my birthday. The USDA Prime steaks are supposedly some of the better ones in LA, according to my friend - and he wasen't lying one bit.
Both my Porterhouse and the wife's Prime Rib were HUGE, tender, and very flavorful. The garlic mash potatos and sauteed mushrooms were awsome. Our appitizer of oysters was delicious and fresh, and the strawberry shortake was to die for ;)
It was $180 for our evening with tip ($155 without), and we brought our own bottle of wine. $20 was a corkage fee, so you can see what the 2 best cuts of meat, appitizer, and dessert with cappuchino's will cost you.
We had enough leftovers to enjoy a fantastic lunch the next day - the huge portions make this place a relative bargin compared to other premium steak houses.
