I decided to try cocos for the first time in it was a big mistake. The service was terrible we were waiting for 15 minutes just for the waitress to ask us what we wanted to drink. I would of understand if it was bussy but it wasn't. Once the waitress did come around she was very rude when we asked her if we could subtitute one thing for another. i was feed up with all the waiting and our rude waitress so we got up and left and went to ihop instead and it was way better
I gave this craphole 1 star only cause there wasn't anything lower.
Yes, I am aware this is Coco's but one should be able to expect a decent order of scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. Oh, I was so very wrong. Yes, it was Mother's Day, and yes our server kept telling us how very busy it was (I've been a server most of my life, it wasn't all that busy) but, come on, how hard is it to scramble some frickin' eggs. The coffee tasted like someone had put a cigarette out in it, my daughter's strawberry pancakes was covered more with some gooey red mess than actual strawberries,l my husband's ham resembled roofing tile and, have I mentioned my scrambled eggs? Runny and tasteless. The potatoes were nasty and the pancakes were cold. BTW, we waited over an hour for all this as well. One of the most disgusting meals I've ever seen cause there was no way I was going to eat that crap. Only reason I didn't throw a fit was that it was Mother's Day so I gave our male server a gift. I would starve before I'd enter a Coco's again. It's no wonder there are so few left and even those suck.
Normally a pretty good place as to service, but they do sometimes seem to be undermanned.
Cocos is not great but it is good for my taste. And clearly is it a Sunday morning breakfast favorite in Pasadena.
This used to be a good dinner. Today's experience let me down totally: I was not seated, had to wait for a cup of coffee, I felt I panheld for one! I know my attitude was not the best one, but I was sleep deprived, and I expected courteous treatment. Very, truly bad experience!
My husband and I were looking for a place to eat before heading to the Ice House, which is just across the street, and decided to go to Coco's. Neither of us had been there before. We were seated promtly but were seated just outside the kitchen area. We asked to be moved to a table by the window, our mistake!!! As we sat we watched others come in after us. They were seated in other areas and their wait staff took orders and gave water. We sat for about 20 min with absolutely NO service. We finally got up spoke briefly with the manager and then walked out. I will NEVER set foot in that place again!!!
I've only eaten there for their banana cream pie and those are the most delicious, better than a few others I've tried. Their pies are thick, filling stays together, bananas are in big chunks, and creamy! Just a lot of rich flavor!
