Cafe Bizou - Pasadena, Pasadena

We had a family luncheon for a party of 16 and the accomodations were excellent. The service and the food were great. Since it was a large group they had a few different waiters for us and everyone in our group would go back again. Thanks for a great dining experience!

A surprise birthday dinner had been arranged for my brother (his 57th), and 11 family members were invited. I read the reviews for the restuarant and was not impressed. What a surprise it was, both for my brother and the 11 invited quests...dinner (appet., salads, soups, entrees and desserts) was wonderful..every one of us was more than pleased...it was great. The service was as good as the meal. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone for excellent food, service...IT WAS GREAT...Thank you Cafe Bizou!!!

Awful Service and Disturbing Sanitation Practice Our dinner experience at Cafe Bizou was both unpleasant and disturbing. After we were seated, our waiter came by to take our orders. After that he was never heard from again. The server brought five glasses of water for the seven of us. We asked him for two more glasses of water but he never did. We had to ask another table's waiter for the two glasses of water. Up to this point we were mildly annoyed, but it was nothing compared to what transpired next. A group of patrons sat down on the table next to us. They left after a few minutes. While they were sitting there, some of them had used the cloth napkins to wipe their hands and touched the plates and utensils. The restaurant staff did not clear the table for the next party. Instead, they simply re-position the napkins and utensils to make it seem like no one had used them. One of the napkins on our table was dirty. We asked a waiter for a new napkin. He took a napkin from the table next to us. We told him the napkins on that table had been used already and asked for a clean one. He simply put the napkin back on that table and walked away. We had to ask a manager for a new napkin. We told him about the table next to us. He seemed unhappy that we consider that a problem and reluctantly ordered the table reset. If this is what they do in full view of the customers, I wonder what they do behind the kitchen door.

I am not one to usually write a review but after reading some of the absolutely ridiculous ones written here I felt it was necessary. My husband and I ate at Cafe Bizou this past weekend and it was fantastic. First of all it was by no means expensive or over priced. The average meal ranged from $15-20 dollars. My husband and I ordered an appetizer, salads, 2 entrees, and 2 bottles of wine and our bill was only $150 dollars. Second of all the place most certainly did not smell like cat litter of urine. I am a Dental Hygienist and I am very particular about cleanliness and I would not eat in a restaurant that was not clean. Finally, we did not have a reservation and were expecting to have to wait, however after just 20 minutes we had been seated. Our food was served quickly and our waiter was fantastic. We were not rushed and were given the opportunity to enjoy our food and our romantic evening out. My husband and I eat out frequently and we both found Cafe Bizou to be a fantastic restaurant and we will definitely be going back.

I had the worst restaurant experience of my life at Cafe Bizou recently. The service at this restaurant is so terrible that I'm still shocked by my experience. I planned a warm, intimate birthday dinner for my wife, who was turning 30. It was a very special occasion, and so I made sure we had reservations in advance. We were really looking forward to celebrating with our friends and family. Unfortunately, when we got there, everything went horribly wrong. First, despite the fact that we had reservations, we waited over 30 minutes for a table. After waiting for close to half an hour, I asked the hostess (who informed me that she was the owner's daughter) what the problem was. She told me in a very cavalier fashion that they didn't expect people would eat this long and to just wait a little bit longer. When they finally sat us, we were seated at a very small table. And when I talked to the manager about it, he rudely told me that was just the way it was, even though other parties of six were clearly sitting at bigger tables. The fact that this was a birthday dinner did not matter to him at all. He refused to apologized and just really dared us to leave. So, notwithstanding that we didn't have any other place to go, we just couldn't take it any more and left. I talked to the hostess again, who just had a smirk on her face and told me to call her dad. I called the owner just to let him know what happened, and he never bothered to call me back. Ultimately, my wife and my family had to find a restaurant last minute, and, by that time, the whole night was just lost. I just can't believe this happened to us. Birthdays, especially 30th birthdays, are important experiences, and these are things you just can't take back. I can't believe people at this restaurant can be so rude and feel nothing about having ruined such an important day in my wife's life. I can't attest to the food, but what I do know is that the people here are terrible.

Cafe Bizou is one of my ALL-TIME favorites. My husband used to work there and took me there on our first date...I fell in love...with the food! I always order the Tuna Tartare app. then the Lobster Bisque and the Asian Pear salad. My hubby usually orders the Rack of Lamb or the Ahi....both wonderful. We usually get a martini at the bar first then sit down with a bottle of wine from home....with their $2 corkage, you can't beat it. Gotta top it all off with the Tiramisu. We always leave fat and happy!

We had lunch there. The embient was nice, a feeling of being in France. The service was up to standard. The white salmon was great and is to die for! Price was very reasonable for the type of food. We enjoyed our first experience and will continue to dine there.

I had a reservation for 5 and we still waited close to 40 minutes. I was kinda unhappy but with food on order and my appetite in hunger mode, oh well. Anyways the foods was pretty good and the desserts were good too.

I can't get enough of this restaurant. The food is yummy. I always go there when I am craving fish. And you can't beat the wine corkage fee or the add soup or salad for a buck. It is nice for special ocasions too! Overall an excellent choice any day, but don't forget to make reservations.
