I have gone to Burrito Express for 30 years...that's right! It is one of the best kept secrets in
Pasadena! Now my kids go there and it is the same great place to eat then as it is now! In a world that changes by the moment, it is nice to be able to count on the experience, quality and price B.E. offers day in and day out! You should check it out!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love everything that I've tried. It's not your normal East L.A. taco/burrito place (which is probably why I like it so much). The shredded beef is great, and now they have carne asada (which for some reason they didn't before). The guys that work there are all very nice and make you feel like a regular even if you just drop by once in a while. My favorite is the JVC with beef, I add some onions for a little zing and sometimes I get it single wrapped (if I'm not going to share it, because it's a little smaller than the double wrapped version, and I can almost finish the whole thing). Their salsas are super and from what I've seen, very popular. I'll keep going back, that's for sure.
I've been eating here for almost thirty years. Everything I've ever had has been excellent, fresh, and a great value. I'm a committed carnivore, but the veggie burrito is excellent. This is a Pasadena tradition and da bomb!
P.S. be careful- if you order hjot sauce it is spicy and hot and can burn ya!
I have been eating there for years2-4 times a month and the food is consistantly great.I always order for take out and they have never goofed my order. If you are looking for great mexican food , Burrito Express is simply the Best.
I went to this place based on the three previous reviews and was very disapointed. I guess being so close to East L.A. (where you get real mexican food), I expected something similar in my own backyard. The food here was bland and my friend that came along with along with me also thought the same thing. I guess I'll still be still be searching for some authentic Mexican Food in the Pasadena Area.
I have never taken a person to this place that has not loved their food. I am a regular there and they know my order by heart now. If you have not gone there you have not fully experienced good mexican food in the San Gabriel Valley.
This place is legendary in our family: It's all about the Chicken JVC Spicy, baby! We've been coming here since I was just a kid, and the burritos have been delicious all the while. Once you've experienced it, you'll want more. And when they ask you if you want some of their hot sauce on the side - THE ANSWER IS YES! Yum.
