This is my first & will be the last time I go to this place. Everything was really, really salty or greasy. It tasted good on the first bite but as I kept eating, I felt my blood pressure rise. I'm Chinese & I'm not big on eating at Chinese restaurants but I gave this place a try. My chow mein & pan-fried noodles only contained about 25% noodles & the rest were veggies or meat. I love eating veggies but the saltiness killed it. Also, fried rice is supposed to be flavorful, a subtle sweet & saltiness. Nope, not at LeYen, it's like they forgot to put the other ingredients but added a triple dose of salt. I've had way better tasting Chinese food at fast food joints such as Asian Chef on Atlantic & 36th. The only consolation was that the ppl were nice.
Best Chinese food in Long Beach. You just can't find places like this anymore. It's family owned and operated. When you dine there, you're just another member of the family. Try the sweet and sour duck...so good.
LUV This Restaurant, Family owned, Good Food,Friendly people:) Our Family Has Been Dinning There For Many Years. My Brothers & I Were lil Children,When We First Went There W/Our Parents, and Now We'r Grown And Have Children OF Our Own And Le YEN Is Still Our #1 Rrestaurant!! :)
A Bixby Knolls institution! Le Yen's food is great, and they don't skimp on portions. The ambience is lacking, but only because eating is a serious business at Le Yen - the fewer distractions, the better. The service is also excellent, no matter how busy the place is (and the only time it's not busy is on Mondays...when they're closed!). About the only thing really wrong is the lack of dedicated parking; then again, Le Yen is worth the hunt for a parking place. Definitely recommended for a casual night of dinig.
