Open Sesame, Long Beach

Very disappointing and AWFUL experience at Open Sesame. Too cramped and people bump into you. The food is way overated and too salty. Everything i tried was salty, i had to drink water all night. Their service is average but really overall, i can't say i'll go back again. The new place across the street Magic Lamp is way better. More spacious and the food is much more authentic. I am Lebanese and Open Sesame is not considered good Lebanese food as far as i'm concerned. NOT GOING BACK, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I had a good experience eating at Open Sesame a few months ago, so I tried again yesterday. I was extremely disappointed that they would not seat me alone at a 2 person table. It was 3pm, and there was an open table, but they said they have a policy to seat 2 people at tables. I have eaten there before when it was even more crowded, and that was not the case. I left disappointed and will not be returning again.

The best Shwarma, chicken or beef, in Long Beach. Jalaab, Hommus and the appetizer potatoes are all really great. It's a small place so except a wait on the weekends.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Long Beach, totally authentic. Babaganoush & Hommos are top notch!

I am happy here. can't complain! they always accomodate my substitutions at no charge! i also love the roasted tomatoes. Clean, upbeat, tiny place but hey what do you expect its belmont shore! (ofcourse its cramped) Did I mention HEALTHY?

This was the origonal middle eastern restaurant on Second Street. Great food, healthy choices on the menu, amazing paint job in the restuarant. Two new middle eastern restaurants opened across the street. We had the worst meal of our lives at Sunin right across the street from Open Sesame. Sunin isn't listed forme to review, but here's my review - cross the street and eat at Open Sesame.

Long wait, lousy food, too noisy. If I wanted this kind of quality, i would go to a fast food place. After waiting 20 minutes for seat, we get this crammed table with people so close to you you feel they're sitting on your lap. The food was way below average. I would not return there.

We came here on a late Saturday afternoon. We would have eaten later but we were afraid that we wouldn't be able to get a seat as it was the only restuarant that had alot of customers at this time. The rice was one of the best we've tasted. The lamb/beef mixture was excellent. The beef was great. The chicken was good, but I wouldn't say it was better than other restaurants I've tried. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback is the limited space. I can't wait to come back.

Open Sesame is simply one of the best restaurants (foodwise) in Long Beach. Be prepared for a long wait for a table, but not a long wait for food once you have been seated. While the staff may not be overly friendly they are fast and accurate and the small tables and narrow passages only add to the ambience. I have been going to this restaurant for years now, and it never ceases to satisfy.

I really enjoy Open Sesame as well as Sunnin's, although the former is definitely more mellow. Looking forward to lebanese tonight! the wait at Open Sesame truly is long and needs work. Also a bit crowded inside as far as tables placement, etc. hopefully they can expand - or rearrange!
