My daughter paid to have her wedding and reception at Khoury's. The weather was questionable two days before the wedding during the rehearsal and the wedding planner told us that if the weather was undesirable the ceremony would be held indoors.
The day of the wedding we arrived and there were people outside waiting. My daughter wasn't sure where to wait so I went into the restaurant to find the wedding planner. I asked several workers, who couldn't speak English, and did not get any help. The person was finally located, after the wedding was to start. The wedding started a half hour late, and the weather was cold and windy but there was another wedding planned in the spot that we were told that we could use if the weather was bad. This was not an accident but an intentional lie.
This was not the only problem.
The drinks were not mixed properly and they were watered dowm! The bartender was taking orders for drinks that were not well drinks so that it came off the open bar tab.
There was a step towards the back room that was dangerous that caused a few people to stumble down. This was blamed on the drinking-they fell down the steps before the wedding and drinking started. This is a hazard.
My daughter ordered a lemon cake and got chocolate!
I would never, never book any important function at Khoury's. It is managed by non-English speaking workers which makes it impossible to get good service.
Don't go there if you want a wedding your way.
I decided to take my wife and family friends out to Khoury's for the Saturday dinner buffet and had made reservations earlier in the week, thank goodness I called to reconfirm my reservation because they didn't have any record of it. The lady who took it earlier in the week didn't even write it in their reservation book. I thought it was an honest mistake and that as long as they could accommodate our party of 10 I was ok with it. Well when we arrived at Khoury's I immediately noticed that they had changed the setup of the buffet from when I had last dined their in 4/2010. The plates were greasy as if they were not cleaned well or their were washed in cold water. That was just the beginning of a VERY, VERY, VERY disappointing dinner. The food at the buffet wasn't very appetizing, it appeared to be hurriedly set in place and the ambiance had changed. I went straight for the lobster and prime rib roast (one of the best anywhere). I got the whole lobster but NO PRIME RIB, it was replaced by a cheap cut of roast beef and when I asked what happened to the PRIME RIB I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, that was a lie. They just told me that to keep us their because I was suspicious something was not right. When I tried to eat my Lobster it was warm and the shell was soft indicating it was cooked earlier and then warmed up in boiling water or left sitting in warmed water and therefore it was overcooked and just horrible. They only started cooking fresh lobsters when they ran out of the precooked lobsters. What a big difference but by then I was thoroughly disappointed and disgusted that I had taken my family friends to dine here after bragging about how great it used to be. I asked our waitress if Khoury's was under new ownership and at first tried to avoid answering the question and then said it was owned by a Korean. I think she was lying about the owner being Korean. I think the NEW owners were working that night. I had been coming to Khoury's for almost 7 year's and never left disappointed until now and will not return because the New owners have no clue what they are doing. The only positive is that they were charging less for the buffet but I would have gladly paid more if they had stayed true to what the old ownership had in place.
I tried their seafood buffet and it was excellent with many FRESH seafood including lobsters! Their location is right next to water and fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant to restaurant to everyone!!!
My fiance and I are getting married this summer and having our reception at Khoury's. My fiance took me there for a surprise on Valentine's night for dinner. The food was fantastic, the service was great, and the desert was super yummy. We did not have the buffet, but I saw many people who seemed to be enjoying their meal. I love the owner, he has been so great to us.
We made a resevation for their seafood buffet and took more than one hour to get there. Guess what? They said, buffet was cancled due to some private party and lady insisted she called us. She didn't even asked my phone number when I made a reservation and I had a proof on my cell phone. They just said sorry with attitude and told us to stay if we want to have regular dinner menu. Who would want to stay and have a dinner in the place where private party going on with loud music. It was horrible experience and I don't recommend anybody to do if you expect to have decent service with good food.
I took my parents to Khoury's for some special reason, I can't remember now... And was very, very disappointed in the Buffet, especially after hearing about what great food they had. At one point, I got really perturbed when I had to wait in front of the Prime Rib station along, with a few other people, for about 5 minutes or so, for someone to carve the meat! I finally had to ask one of the servers where the guy was who was supposed to be at that station. They didn't know, but they hurried off to find him. Overall the quaility of the food was a big disappointment, especially for the price because it was WAY over priced! I would never go to their Buffet again but I might try just the regular meals before I completely count them out.
My son took my husband and i to mothers day brunch at your restaurant for mothers day the food was not good at all, the buffet room was very unoriginized and the food whenever there was food was not very good. you shoud close your doors if you cant give your customrs better service and food.in these hard time i hated to see my son spend his hard earned money on that horrible brunch. get it together
