This Italian restaurant is elegant and delicious, and located on trendy Second Street so it's convenient to shopping and nightlife. The cooks make the pizza dough fresh every day and the sauce is made from only fresh tomatoes and herbs and simmered for three hours. Try the Vegetarian, Hawaiian, Domenico's Special or Domenico's Supreme (pepperoni, salami, capicolla, sausage, mushrooms, black olives, onions, green peppers and anchovies). The entrees are great, and the desserts are too! Please see the website for further information.

I've been eating there since the 60's and it's the best . Sausage pizza and the house salad are to die for. I now live in Georgia and when friends come to visit they bring lots of the house dressing for me, so when in the shore ya gotta go!!!

Disappointing. While looking for a place to entertain guests during the holidays, we knew Belmont Shores was a sure thing. Read many reviews on this place and had to try it. Called ahead with a party of 8 - they do not take reservations, but, said they'd put us on the list with 2 other large parties ahead of us. Arrived earlier than expected and was told the wait would be only 25-30 minutes. 30 minutes later - we were told it would be 30 minutes longer. 25 minutes later - we were told it would be another 30 minutes. Nearly two hours after arrival - agreed to split the group into 2 so we can get seated and move on - they found a small corner table to squeeze all 8 of us into - didn't care - just hungry! Tried the ground pepperoni pizza - very salty. Pasta was same as anywhere else. Don't really get what the hype is about - any old pizza joint would have been better and less embarrassing for us to entertain our guests. 1 star for the service and 3 stars for the food.

Atmosphere and servers is up to par.. Good night life in and around the street. As for the pizza, it is quite overrated... I went here after reading the reviews on yahoo... I was not impressed at all.. Dough was chewy and toppings were skimp yet salty... did not have good balance of flavors...had better pie at shakey's or dominoes.. IF YOU WANT GOOD PIZZA.... GO TO PETRILLOS IN SAN GABRIEL TRUST

I went on the first date with my husband to Domenico's...The marriage ended but Domenico's is still wonderful...House dressing to die for...and the ground pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza never fails to blow me away...40 years and never a bad experience ...tons of garlic...so don't forget the breath mints

When I was a kid, Domenico Spano owned all the Domenico's restaurants. He was quite a character and nice guy who greeted all the customers and spoke to everyone at their tables too. When I was a teenager, my mother bought 5 of the Domenico's from "Dom" & she promptly put me to work as the "salad girl" and making meals for the employees (so they wouldn't have to eat pizza every day). In those days (1960's) we also made the dough, sauce & salad dressing from scratch, no skimping. I think my mom sold the Belmont Shore restaurant back to Dom. I don't remember. Eventually, she sold them all (Long Beach, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, etc.). I'm sure the recipes are the same today. The salad dressing is "to die for"! Fond memories and great food!!!

Awesome pizza, unique "ground pepperoni" topping. Older gentleman ( owner? ) always greets you personally at the front desk and is extremely polite. 5 stars!

I still remember eating their pizza after I was done kayaking with my friends. Their pizza was the best pizza ive ever tasted. I had pepornie, sausage, beacon and chicken for my toppings (Sorry veggies, but i love meat! And no im not fat =_=). The toppings were sliced into small squares, and tasted damn good. As soon as i get a car, im gonna go drive down to seal beach and get me some Domenico's pizza!

Every time I travel to SoCal from NorCal, we try make it a point to eat there. I remember visiting my family as a small child and getting filled up on the dressing and then pour it on the sausage and pepperoni pizza. Just thinking about it makes me want to drive 5 hours to So Cal.

I've eaten there a few times, and it's been delicious each time! Great service, great food. In fact, I'm going to eat there right now! I love their pizza, and that bread is delicious.

Been eating this pizza for over 50 yrs!!!
By sarah, 02/25/07
My family has been eating this pizza for over 50 years!!!! My grandmother started eating it when she was pregnant with my dad and since then we ALWAYS order it for family get-togethers. I always eat the the ground sausage & mushroom pizza (which is delicious). I think I love it so much because I have been eating it all my life, but I can guarantee any newcomer will love it just the same.
