Green Field is one of the best buffets you can go to and better than any other buffet i have been. A place to go for many occasions. The meat is very tastey. And the salad bar is very good (hot and cold) I especially like the deserts that they have. My family 'can not' get enough of this place and can't seem to go enough times. I just might add; the service is excellent. So far I've seen they are on their toes, so-ta-speak.
Green Fields is a wonderful Brazilian buffet. The hot and cold bars feature an almost unending selection of cold foods, salad selections, hot foods in the Brazilian tradition such as pork and black beans, and mouth-watering fried bananas drenched in cinnamon and sugar. Using a green-light/red-light small traffic signal symbol invites the constantly roving meat purveyors to provide limitless amounts of pork, beef, poultry, lamb, squab that is deliciously seasoned and roasted on spits. Lunch costs less than dinner. And the dinner selection of meats and hot and cold foods is bit more extensive. However, both meals are prix fixe, with drinks and desserts (as if you'd have any room) extra. The restaurant has an extensive wine collection and a fully stocked bar. This is the most wonderful yet-to-be-discovered gem in Long Beach. I just took three very, very fussy eaters there, and they all loved it.
If your looking for a classy, professional place to have a business dinner, or even to just have a special night with that special someone, Greenfields is the place, the food is outstanding, every piece of meat is cooked superbly, and the way it is served makes this place a very different dining experience, the fruit, vegetables, are very fresh and profesionally laid out, and the ambiance is second to few
I was amazed at the vast amount of meat and food served at the resturant. It is truly worth the price. Unless someone tells you about the place, you would pass by it and not suspect the great meal being served inside. This is a must do for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon dining pleasure.
I am here to tell you. This place is awesome if you are a meat lover. The servers bring you all kinds of meat that is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The buffet style of acquiring side dishes it nice because of the variety that you can sample. The environment is suitable and I feel the price structure is appropriate. A good place to take the family when you want to really EAT!
Oh, I was so looking forward to Green Field! I'm a big-time carnivore & the thought of all of that meat had me salivating. Finally, I got to go! My BIL had a big crowd there for his birthday, around 25 or so. And this seemed to be the perfect venue, it's a large & handsome restaurant. And I spotted a daytime soap star! But I digress...
When the wait-staff started coming around with the meat-laden skewers, I said yes to them all: different cuts of beef, chicken, & pork mainly, apparently you have to request the more exotic game-type meats. W-E-L-L, I'm sorry to report that honestly, none of them were that great, so-so at best.(I admit it, some of them I just spit out) They were all very dry& tasteless, most pretty chewy, I was so disappointed. And it was pretty pricey for what you got, which was basically a tired jaw. There was only one thing there that I really liked, it was battered & fried cauliflower, now THAT was yummy! But the meat? No thank you, I haven't been back & I doubt that I ever will. Bummer, I was hoping for so much better! And it was so fun & pretty in there!
Oh well, at least I got to see a Young & Restless star. I wonder if HE's been back?
I've been to churrascarias in the heart of Brazil (and copycats from Torrance to Asuncion, Paraguay), and this is the real thing! They even got the caipirinhas right. This is the Fathers' Day spot--a place to go w/ your dad and 2 brothers so you can see the waiters' eyes widen in delight at the site of true meat lovers' appetites.
