TCrab Pot attracts loyal customers not only for its spectacular waterfront view but also for its delicious seafood menu. The staff will advise you to roll up your sleeves and put on your bib, because it can get messy while you enjoy the delicious sea feast. There's also a lively bar with a Happy Hour Monday through Friday. Banquet facilities are available. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, everybody's there to have a good time and good seafood.
We have eaten inside and enjoy the food, but our favorite thing to do is to sit outside and enjoy the view and the great California weather and enjoy a bottle of wine. But we hated that smoking is allowed! we are there to enjoy the view and the fresh air and it always gets ruin by somebody smoking, even the waitresses complain that they have to breath second hand smoke. Please make it non-smoking outside so we can all enjoy the view and the great seafood!!!
This was my worst experience at a restaurant ever!!!! Worse yet, their lack and rude service appeared as if it was RACIALLY MOTIVATED and they had no concerned for the well being of their customer and was ABSOLUTELY RUDE!!! Don't ever go here if you have a big party (over 8) as you will be mistreated. I even called out a manager to explain the situation but his apologies were only a lip service with no genuine feeling of being sorry.
My review will be long but I needed to write it so that you can understand. Please read below.
We had a party of 13 and were asked that the wait was approximately an hour. So we advised them that outside seating or split table will be ok if we can get an earlier seating and they advised that this will not be a problem and will arrange accordingly. After 50 min have passed, and after all the party of 7 and 5 and 3's and 2's and all the rest who have arrived after us were seatedI, we checked and they advised that they were waiting on a table to be cleared and it would be 15 min or so. So we thought that is fair and waited another 20 min. During this time, another party of 7 and 5 and many other smaller group were seated so we went up their again to ask on the status. Their response was they are now clearing the table now and will sit us shortly so please be patient and was asked to wait. But surprisingly, she said this with a rude attitude and made us feel like we were pushing her. So i was taken back a bit but thought that we will be seated shortly so i didn't really reacted to her rudeness. But after another 15 min have passed, we were still not seated and asked what the problem was. Their response was they only had 2 guys clearing the table and is taking a longer time than expected. So I was frustrated at this time and asked them what ever happened to our outside seating option and split table option. And they said they could not sit us on a split table because servers will be different and that checks couldn't be splited. Although it was a bad excuse i thought, we asked how about the outside option. They said we never told them about the outside option so they didn't even considered it. At this time i ran out of my patience But we didnt wanted to waste 2 hours of waiting and tried to make the night so i asked patiently, how much longer before we can be seated. I expected 1 min or now after all these but they advised that they are still busting the table and could be another 15 min. After hearing this, my other friends couldn't wait any longer and decided to leave. So I was so upset and asked for a manager. He came so I explained the entire situation just to get a sincere apology now that we were gonna leave after 2 hours waiting. And shockingly, the manager only offered a very lousy lip service and didn't have a genuine feeling of being sorry. I run a business so i can distinguish lip service to genuine feeling of apology but surprisingly, he only offered a boring lip service. After i heard this, I realized at that time why and how this restaurant ran their business this way. How can an employee care for their customer if their manager has no concern for his customer. At this time, i knew that this restaurant had very bad leadership and management so we walked out without even making any big scene. I could have yelled and created a scene as I was so upset but just decided to leave as i figured that it would be a wastes effort. Hopefully if this restaurant can change after this review then I serves my purpose of writing this long review. And if not hope other guest can take note and be warned as this business is standing on a poorly managed restaurant.
My family and I ate there March 19, 2010....the experience was terrible!!! Not only a waste of money, but a waste of time. Our waiters name was Brandon, and at 1st he was nice. As soon as the rest of our party arrived, he started to get this attitude. He took forever to give them their menus and forever for their drinks to get to them. My husband and I were already done eating. But we seen how irritated he was. Like he was bi-polar. The food wasnt good. Id rather go to Red Lobster or Crab Shack. And when we paid the bill, it took him 20 minutes to bring my change back!!!! I do not recommend this place to anyone. Save ur anger and ur money.
Last night I ate at the crab pot. The hostess was very confrontational about the seating. Until she seen that I was about to leave did she agree to let me sit where I wished, which seem very stupid seeing that the place was mostly emptied. Shannon our waitress was very nice. The food was okay but not worth what we paid for. If you want good seafood throwned at your table, I recommend going to Joe's Crab Shack and flipping over your own plate.
I really had been looking forward to eating here for awhile. I knew there were mixed reviews but had to try for myself. Well, I am really let down. For 8 of us the bill was almost $300.00 and that is with two kids meals. The Alaskan feast for two people was almost $70.00 and was mostly mussels which I hate. We pulled all the crab in the pile to the side to really see how much was there. We had only 4 King Crab legs, two Snow crab claws and a couple of Snow crab legs (the dungeneous was missing somehow). So in total we didn't even get a whole crab. Everything was covered with paprika and chili powder so not only were your hands red, your lips burned the entire time. The corn on the cob underneath the red powder was rotten, the shrimps still had their poor little eyes in and the clams were steamed to the point they were crunchy. I am so dissapointed and broke. We will never go back.
