George's Greek Cafe, Long Beach

Food is amazing. Really amazing. Atmosphere of outdoor patio couldn't be more pleasant and the service is always top notch. You will not get a better gyro anywhere, and the side salads they come with are nearly a meal in themselves. It is also very afforddable for such authentic, delicious fare.

Ordered light, so I picked the hummus and it was excellent. Tasted like it was made fresh on site. Our server was friendly, service was fast, and some of the other dishes looked absolutely delicious. Will be back.

Excellent food. I really liked the waitresses too, they were like old friends. They gave us lavish compliments on our choices and when they arrived we were not disappointed in the least. I had the horitaki shrimp salad and it was amazing. Especially since I hate lettuce and it was chocked full of chunky (not too big) veggies, feta, delicious olives and of course shrimp. The Pita was good, not good as Papa Cristos in Los Angeles but better than others. I can't get the olive dip out of my mind, I honestly can't stop thinking about it. The hummus was also very good. My husband got some beef kebabs, I wish they had been more tender, but great favor still. I thnk I the beer I was caled Hilla, or something like that, it was really enjoyable.

My lady and I came to this place for dinner and were very impressed from the friendly waitress to the appetizers and dinner. The prices on the menu were very reasonable and would recommend this place to anyone that loves Greek food. Thanks George

The service was so slow and it didn't seem like the staff cared about the complaints from other customers. The lamb was so burnt and tough that I could not enjoy it at all. Georges used to be great. Did something happen to the owners? Definetely not worth you time or money.

I went to this place, knowing that it had recieved good reviews, but as soon as get to the door this random dude hugs me and im like EWWWWW!!!!... so I just left.

I went to George's for the first time tonight, and was greeted by George - who was very nice and welcoming. The waitress was among the best i've had - friendly, full of recommendations, knew what items were truly vegetarian and not. Plus, the food was great!!! I will be back soon. Also have a nice wine list with reasonably priced bottles. I can't wait to eat my leftovers and visit George's again!

The food at George's is the best Greek food around. They have the best dolmathes anywhere! Unlike most places, they have meat in them, although you could get vegetarian ones if you want. Their Friday night special of slow cooked lamb is excellent as is their stuffed salmon. If you're lucky you'll get papa George to greet you at the door (cute little old man who greets everyone with a hug).
