Louie's Chinese Restaurant, San Pedro

The original owners of Louie's located in Wilmington opened this location several years ago, then it got sold some time after. By far Louie's has always been my favorite chinese restaurant. My favorite dishes are the chicken fried rice or House Special fried rice that has everything, beef or chicken brocolli, eggrolls, chowmein and best orange chicken! I went severeal times to the SP location while it was o/g ownewrs. For the past two years minimum it has been different owners. The food here is just NOT good. I purchased a couple of different times the last two years and I would never recommend it to anyone! I got fried rice made to order which was so gross, it had the worst taste....like they cooked it with bad fish. The texture of it felt slimy like it was going bad. Their orange chicken and beef broccolli was okay. I would drive to Wilmington just to get the authentic Louie's (now off Anaheim) ...It is well worth the drive. I will never go back to SP location again. I really did try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but no more. I have not found a good chinese place that I love here in SP.....need to keep searching.

I cannot believe that this restaurant is still open. We went there over THIRTY years ago, and it was not the cleanest then. The food was not good, and we have not been back since so I cannot comment on the current condition, but I am not regretting not returning in THREE decades. One would think that in all this time, it would have closed or reformed. Guess not.
