I agree this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to anywhere, let alone in the South Bay. I agree that one bad night with one waitress/waiter keeping you away is an poor way to deal with one negative experience. We've been there many times and have had the owner come out and ask us how we like the new entree or soup. Many of the staff have been there for years which is a real plus in the business. Wonderful food for very affordable prices, and great ambience. You must try this place!
There was a female server named Chrysty who wated on us. She was TERRIBLE...Will never go there again... makes the place a waste of money.... Think she was on drugs too...Meth... do not recomend at all!
This is by far a hidden treasure of the South Bay. I just took a group of friends to have dinner, and I have been thanked and said how they were in aww. The service is the best. The employees are wonderful, and definitely make you feel great.
Definitely one of my fave places to eat ever! I have driven over an hour for fine dining but Neil's is in my own backyard. Everyone I take there falls in love with it! Everything is outstanding: food, service, and atmosphere! You do not want to miss this one!
Their food and service is most excellent. How excellent? Neil's normally is not open for lunch on Saturdays, but I had a party of 16 (a memorial lunch for my recently departed father) and they opened the restaurant just for us. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff was ready for us even when we arrived a half hour earlier than expected. It was a wonderful experience all around.
Neil's is one of my absolute favorites. I've never had a bad dish there. The freshness and quality is impeccable and the service exquisite. I highly reccomend the carpaccio, a difficult dish to find and one that's done really well at Neil's. The osso buco is to die for, and if the truly wonderful mushroom papardelli, a special that is only occasinally on the menu, is available, get it. You won't be sorry. Go tonight, bring your sweetie and soak up the romance!
I'm a regular at Neil's and I can tell you that their food is great. To make your experience even better I would suggest that you ask for Reyes to wait on you. He is the head waiter and is by far the best server. He's also married to the owners daughter so you know he will be very attentive to your needs.
I would recommend the sauted calamari as the appetizer since this is the only place around that offers such a dish. Also, the crab cakes in Tequila sauce is just unbelievable.
The owner/chef Neil comes from an island off the coast of Naples, Italy. Being such, his eye for seafood is unmistakably keen when it comes to the variety and freshness of the finished product.
His wine list is not bad either.
