my family & i just went there today for the 1st time. OMG.. did we regret going there!!!
the kids had chicken enchiladas ($10.49/plate) & i had a taco plate($8.50/plate).
so i'm thinking im going to recv alot. all i recvd was 1 little taco & rice in a HUGE plate that i could've gotten for $1.50 @ a hole in the wall restaurant. the kids enchiladas were warmed up or something b/c the chicken inside it (which there was barely any) was a little too chewy & slightly cold.
i think this place is trying too much to be high-end for the food to be so crappy & the prices to be so HIGH!!! ridiculous, i've never eaten @ a place so expensive & yet the food tastes like their warmed up (not fresh)!
1st time there & last time ever!
if anything... the Acapulco Cafe (not the restaurant) by Harbor-UCLA Hospital is by far the best I've tasted in Mexican food.
(thank god for watching Chef Gordon Ramsey tips)
I moved back into the area after over thirty years away. Growing up we ate at Las Palmas and Cinco de Mayo for Mexican food. LP is now crap and CDM is long gone. Lupitas was a very pleasant surprise and I will continue to patronize it.
I have been to this restaurant a few times, and every time very satisfied. Their fajitas are so good and the portion is huge. Their enchiladas are also delicious the sauce they use is so good. I have also tried their carne asada (steak) tacos, i usually don't eat meat but now that I am pregnant it's all I crave, I can say these tacos are the best. We will definitely be back..
