I went to The India restaurant a few days ago and this place was AMAZING! I havent ate THIS DELICIOUS in way too long. I went despite the outrageous review on yahoo and im glad i did! I definately recommend this place over Ashoka the Great. I did some research on yelp and the reviews for this place were excellent. When i arrived, the manager and owner greated my husband and i very well. THere was NO LACK OF SERVICE as many people on yahoo claimed there was. The interior looks amazing as well. The food was just right and so was the spiciness! I absolutely loved the Chicken tikka masala and the dinner is wonderful. will be back very soon to try the lunch buffet which is at a good price also.
First, let me acknowledge that the food here is one of the best food I have tasted. I go there occasionally but admittedly with much trepidation. Trepidation why?
1. The owner with the big eyes have never understood concept of smiling...
2. The main server, the big guy or the big Tommy, have no consideration for the customers. He barely acknowledges you and if you are of Indian origin, he looks through you.
3. One of the main assistant waiter, the slm jim stares back at you, if you dare to smile!
This is the worst service I have seen and If I had money, I would have sent these guys for some serious head check up.
But having said that there Paneer Tikka (appetizer section) is the best I have ever had.
It was very bad experience. I went there with my wife to enjoy dinner but they messed up. No smile at all after charging top class $$, on top of that they make check manually and in total they add their extra profit. They made total 20% extra intentionally and I told them to correct it, they did not have even manner to say sorry for their mistake. I would say never go there.
Talking about rudness, you don't have to eat there to be insulted.
I am doing a project for my class at UCI about Indian restaurant and I decided to go to this place because my family came here before. So, I was going to have dinner and see the food, the place and environment. So, I got there and politely I said:
Hi, one and I am a student at UCI and I am doing a project about Indian restaurant...I did not finish my sentence and the guy looked at me and shouted - GET OUT GET OUT!!!
I couldn't believe that. Politely I said- OK! Thank You.
I turned around and left, while the waiter and Bartender were escorting me out.
This is going to be my project's title:
The Rudness of India Restaurant in Artesia -
This place is the most disrespectful place i have ever been. The food is terrible it almost seems watery. Leave aside the waiters the owner of this place is the most RUDE person you will ever meet in your life. He doesnt care about his customers there are a lot of Indian restaurants which are near to this place and are far better. I will probably give it 0 stars
I recently visited the India Restaurant for the lunch buffet and I was very pleased with the experience. After reading the business description here, I found the buffet smaller than I expected but everything seemed to be of very high quality. All of the condiments seemed fresh. The vegetable dishes were varied and interesting--a particular favorite of mine has a wonderful lemony sauce that was unlike any Indian food I'd ever had. The meat dishes were a mix of mostly chicken and one lamb dish. The lamb dish was chunks of lamb shank in a spicy red sauce, and the pieces of shank bone left in the sauce had soft marrow in them that was heavenly when spread on the naan. I am looking forward to my next lunch there.
