Cant believe all the immaters out there on the name, this golden ox is Montebello, the pastrami cant be beat, when I lived in northern Idaho I use to buy 5 take the meat out and freeze it at the hotel so I could have some up there. The pastrami burger is great, Im in Seattle wa now and the lunch meat crap up here sucks, few years ago the guys told me the name of the company that the buy it from, and I put in a order for friends and we order 50 pounds at a time, wow makes me a pastrami dealer , well beats getting busted, all seriousness this place is great, they do it all right and the char burgers, makes burger king suck eggs.
yeah I like this pace
The Golden Ox pastramis are way better than The Hat. The pastramis are packed with lots of meat and they are less expensive. Get the pastrami special. It comes with a load of french fries and a drink. If you're not a really big eater, 2 people can share the special for about $10.00 or less, all you have to do is buy an extra drink. By the way, free refills on the drinks. I give the Golden Ox 5 stars compared to the 1 star I give The Hat. There is another Golden Ox in Uptown Whittier on Greenleaf.
This is a great place and I am proud to say that I have been going here since 1983. The pastrami is the best. Even though they have changed owners since I first started going here they have just improved. The drive through service is fast and the people are always friendly. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or a late night pit stop and you will be in greasy spoon heaven. Bring CASH because that is the only way to pay. Mmmmmmmmmmm!
Not only is the customer service A+++++, but the food is to die for. Their menu can satisfy the smallest to the biggest appetite with any type of food the soul craves. This restaurant is proof that there is a god.....
