Portofino Ristorante Italiano, La Habra

This is such a cool old place! It has improved IMMENSELY since Nick came back a year or so ago. Food is always great, there's always more than we can eat, and a lot comes home with us in doggie bags. Service is friendly and attentive. (We always ask for Brian). They also offer a wine tasting night on Wednesdays, with live music. We double dated with another couple on the Friday before Valentine's Day to avoid the rush and had a very enjoyable time. We were very pleased to meet and hear Jerry, a talented and VERY welcome new entertainer in the piano bar...he knew and performed every one of our requests. Hard to find a good old-fashioned piano bar with a warm, welcoming ambience like Portofino's these days. We love live music, and along with that, plus satisfying food and service, you just can't go wrong with Portofino.

The food is delicious, hot and economical for what you are served. I've lived in La Habra for 12 years and just started going here for the past 3 years. I no longer drive out to an old fav. in L.A. The service is good and we are even having a Sweet 16 party here to share this delicious place with all our loved ones...

Best Italian food in So. Cal. I was born and raised Italian....Just like Grandma's. Average service. I will go back...If service is bad..call on the manager. That is the Italian way...

Since the new owners took over, the music is to loud, lights to bright. Don't like the paper on the tables, the new receptionist needs to learn how to greet and smile. Miss the old piano player. Miss the coupons. The paint job is horrible, especially the outside. At least the food and help stayed the same.

Ambiance is wonderful. Food is magnificent. Service is terrible. The waiter comes to your table once! That's it! If you don't get it straight then, then forget it. Bread is not refilled. A second cocktail? Better go to the car and get it out of the trunk. Dessert? Add another hour. Check? Another hour. Could be the greatest restaurant in North Orange County. Service is slower than an emergency room on a Saturday night!

I TOOK MY FIANCE ON VALENTINES DAY, WE HAD RESERVATIONS AT 8 DIDNT GET SEATED TIL 845 HAD TO REMIND THE HOSTESS THAT WE WERE WAITING. SHE THEN WALKED US OVER TO A TABLE THAT WAS NOT YET READY FOR US, A WAITER HAD TO COME AND CLEAN IT FOR US. THE DINNER CANDLE WAS NOT LIT BUT ALL OTHERS WERE, WE ASKED 3 TIMES IF HE COULD PLEASE LITE IT FOR US. WE HAD TO WAIT AND WAIT FOR A SERVER, WE HAD TO ASK SOMEONE WALKING BY FOR SERVICE, WAS ASKED 4 TIMES WHAT WE WANTED TO DRINK, DIDNT MATTER NO ONE EVER BROUGHT IT. WE EVENTUALLY GOT A ROOM TEMPERATURE SALAD, NOT COLD AND CRISP. WE THEN SAT AND WAITED AND WAITED, WE EVENTUALLY CALLED THE WAITER AND SAID WE WERE LEAVING, HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO CALL THE MANAGER. A GENTLEMAN SHOWS UP DOESNT EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING BUT DOES TELL US THAT HE WILL GET OUR CHECK. I WAS SO EVEN MORE UPSET WHAT WE WERE GONNA GET BILLED FOR SINCE ALL WE GOT WAS WATER AND A ROOM TEMP SALAD. HE CAME BACK AFTER 10 MINUTES AND SAID YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING, AGAIN NOT EVEN SAYING SORRY FOR THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WE JUST HAD BUT SIMPLY TURNED AROUND AND WALKED AWAY. LET ME TELL YOU, THE STARBUCKS WE EVENTUALLY HAD A LIL VALENTINE BITE AT WAS A WHOLE LOT MORE SERVICING THAN THIS PLACE, IF YOU WANT TO GET YOUR PLANS RUINED AND NOT TAKEN CARE OF, BY ALL MEANS, TRY TO EAT HERE, OTHERWISE, TAKE MY WORD AND GO ELSEWHERE, THANKS FOR NOTHING PORTOFINO.
