stay away from this place and save your money !!!! This place is awful. we had a party of 7 and when we first arrived no one immediately greeted us . When we finally got seated our waitress took forever to come to our table . We ordered 6 different appetizers and they took forever to come out and when they did come out only 3 arrived and were finished but others in our party waited forever to get their appetizers. My 3 year old toddler began to get upset and asked when is his juice coming after my family toasted my dad for his birthday because my toddler couldnt toast. I asked for juice for him 3 different times.when our food arrived 3 different servers came out and our waitress claims they were swamped and busy for the night and yet the place was not fulk with guest. Thier were atleast 4 other faux paus with our service but the worst thing of all was the food was soooo not good and the drinks were awful!! How can that be ? Saddddd. The manager made himself present after our dissatisfaction was expressed and he was gracious but as the table of people next to ours left they wished us good luck after expressing thier frustrations as well....i will say nice decor. Is this the standard for this place ! Definitely will never go back!
My girlfriend celebrated her birthday last week. Since we both work, I decided to order chinese take out, and then let her know that I would take her to the Macaroni Grill on April 4, 2009.
We arrived shortly before noon to an almost empty restaurant. We walked up to the hostess' station. The hostess stood there looking at us like we were from another planet. Behind her two waitresses were arguing over who was going to seat us. When My girfriend started to get upset we were ushered into the dining room and told to sit wherever we wanted.
Luckily we got a very nice waitress by the name of Lauren. Lauren was really nice, despite the fact she was tending bar and making drinks. She brought our salads before we could practically blink.
But when our meal comes, some guy comes up, sets the neal before us and walks off, without offering us parmesian cheese, or peppers, which my girlfriend likes in her pasta. When we were through, we were not even offered dessert.
So my girlfriend's birthday lunch was spent discussing how lousy the service had become, since we have been going there for nearly five years.
The food was delicious, but they just don't give a damn about serving the customers anymore.
I will not ever have another meal at this place, since I do not enjoy being treated like a second class citizen. I get better service at a Mc Donald's drive-thru.
I got Chicken Parmesan, my wife Pasta Milano with whole wheat penne.
The pasta accompanying my chicken was rather dry, with a minimal sprinkling of sauce. The chicken itself was a breaded breast with a great deal of melted cheese - more cheese & breading than chicken. My wife's penne was brittle and crumbly, as if cooked excessively. The predominate flavor all around was salt with a strong hint of additional salt.
All and all, some of the poorest Italian I've ever had. Two meals with sodas, no wine, no desserts, no appetizers = $40 including tip. They should use Chef Boiardi and they'd have a big improvement. One of the worst values in the South Bay. At the same price level, the is the excellent Raffaello's Ristorante in nearby San Pedro, which I highly recommend.
We love MacGrill in Milpitas, CA. The Torrance franchise uses too much oil (most pasta come greasy) and the grilled meats are tough (overcooked and not at room temp before grilling). Very disappointing.
We were invited to dinner with friends from Palos Verdes. I have to get invited to go to the Macaroni Grill to even consider the place, it's not my first choice with so many others like The Pasta Company in Venice. The Bellinis are a nice chilled cocktail on a hot summer night.
