This is a great Mom & Pop Japanese restaurant situated in a small strip mall (right behind Arby's). Prices are very reasonable and the portions good sized.
Sushi they make is very good. Try the catipiilar roll!
Service is prompt and you typically won't have to wait for a table.
The restaurant itself would be considered very small, maybe 6 tables (4 persons ea.), and a sushi bar to the left as you walk in, maybe seats 15.
I think there's a $15 min CC purchase.
This is my most favorite sushi place ever! I have been to a few good ones - but this is the best and the service is great! They always answer our questions and help us chose what to order. Never had anything bad here!
this is the best sushi place to go...I have been to a lot of other places but we always end up going back to this place because everything is fresh and in good size portions as well...I highly recommend it!
Food is always good!! Especially Fish is Very Fresh. Also the price is very reasonable! Very friendly Sushi Master (Pop and Mom) and servers always welcome. I always eat Japanese Food at many different restaurants, yet I probably think Hakone is the Best Japanese Restaurant. I think you will agree with me if you visit the restaurant. Overall, Hakone is the last hidden Sushi bar!
Udon, nigiri, hand rolls, and basic teriyaki plates take up most of the menu (sushi menu is seperate.)
Being a small place, the ambience inside isn't loud or overwhelming. It feels like a quiet park, minus the screaming kids and loud swearing jocks.
The service doesn't come by every ten seconds, but they also don't leave you hanging out to dry. Their timing seems to always be just right.
Pricing is awesome. I normally get two hot teas, a couple bowls of udon, california roll (girlfriend) and unagi or mackerel which totals around $26.
They ARE closed on Sunday, but I wouldn't hold it against them.
