I have been going to Chandni for the past 15 years and I love it. Not only is the food prepared in a peaceful way with mellow Indian music and mantras playing, but the food is delicious! It is low-oil and low-salt. Many Indian restaurants have their food floating in grease and when you leave you find you are thirsty for hours afterwards--that is a clear indication that too much salt was used. At Chandni, the food is mild, delicious, and satisfying. My stomach has never been upset once after eating there. The waiters are very friendly, kind and polite. Honestly you can tell they have some kind of spiritual practice as they are not the typical rushed and often impolite staff you sometimes find at other Indian (and American!) restaurants. It makes a difference. When I eat at Chandni, it is like walking into a peaceful atmosphere--food, ambiance, and the people who work there all contribute to what makes a really satisfying dining experience. In addition, they have these great old boothes which are spacious and very comfy. It is nice to just sit and sip chai while listening to the peaceful music. No one rushes you, everyone is kind, food sits well in your tummy...ahhhhh. :)
