Vito Restaurant, Santa Monica

I walked in the door and immediately my husband and I got attitude from the bartendar. As if we were lucky to have her serve us. It didn't stop there. Our waiter was rude and snobby. The air about everyone in that place is wretched and the staff are all snobs. I will never go there again. It was the worst waste of 80.00 ever. The service was horrible and the food had no flavor, except for the sole.

Spaghetti Carbonara is my pick! Great for a date or business dinner.

Vito greets you at the door, kisses your date on the cheek, and sits you at your favorite table...Italian dining as it should be! Food's great with some unique specials. A little overpriced - but not too bad.

the food and atmosphere were fantastic. the service was great and they are really nice. be warned, the menu posted here has *OUT OF DATE PRICES* (unless they just raise the prices during tourist season,but I don't think so). I had the filet medallions which are listed for $19.95 but when we arrives they cost $29.95. The filet listed at $21.00 is now $32.50. Still, the food was really, really good and I will go back.

We are guests to Santa Monica from Texas and wanted something that was not a chain restaurant. We chose Vito's and had a great meal and wine. the owner seemed cantankerous, but not toward us. The food and service was great and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice meal in a nice place.

Wonderful atmosphere, white tableclothes, dark wood bar area, old school Italian waiters (the real thing), delicious food. Ceasar salad made tableside, wonderful pastas and entrees. You can dress up or come in jeans and t-shirt. (although most tend to dress up)

I went here for a holiday dinner with my co-workers and it was really nice. The wine was great and the servivce was excellent. The food was so good. We all ordered something different and tasted each others entree and we all loved it. The deserts were fresh and delicious. Will definitely go back again.
