Swingers, Santa Monica

Great late night food place to eat, after the bars kick out this place is always rocking and the menu selection is lagrge.

We ate there Saturday Night and it was exactly as expected. Great food, great atmosphere, and great selection. Staff was perfect for the setting. Don't expect kiss ass over friendly and fake sincerity from the waiting staff for at Swingers, they keep it real and good. I had the Hells Kitchen, my wife had egg white omelet, and my son had the fried egg sandwich.

Unfortunately, I have eaten here 16 times (becuase I live 3 blocks away), 10 times I have received bad service and will never go back again. It's a shame since the few items I eat (grilled cheese or waffles) are usually pretty good. The service however is unbelievably bad. On my final trip there, I ordered a beer and a waffle. 30 minutes later I asked where my waffle was, I was told that they didn't make it (not given a reason). I cancelled my order and left. Other times, they where unable to handle the fact that I ordered an extra side order of fries with my grilled cheese sandwich (since it comes with fries, who would have the audacity to order an additional side) and trouble with well done fries. I really wish they weren't so bad since I live so close and the food has been pretty good. The service though, is the worst ever.

This place needs help - they charged us twice on a meal that didn't rate in the first place - still trying to get our money back for the overcharge... and coolness doesn't make up for that . . i love the look and all....and the onion rings were good - but L.A. doesn't need another trendy place that sucks - pull it together, Swingers - I have friends that luv you!

Not so great. The staff is inattentive and changes over alot. The Menu is actually kinda sparse, and the food is uneven at best. With Norms and Denny's a block away I think you could get a much better bang for your buck. Maybe if it's late and you're on a date because it has a bit more class and atmosphere...but if you're looking to get your grub on not such a great choice.

Swingers is fun for a list of reasons: The style is cool – funky – fun (two words: purple cow) The food is healthy, good, and unique (yeah it is actually healthy!) The staff is hip and still cool The price is great (for the quality of food) And locations is perfect I would definitely pull up here before you went down the street to on of those other diner style places.

I want to hate this place but I can't. It's retro done right. It's food served fresh. And they have purple cow wallpaper. If you happen to be partying in Santa Monica and need some after alcohol food, Swingers would be a great choice. But I wouldn't trade it for any of the K-town spots I frequent, don't get me wrong. It's a place where if it's on the way, then why not. The dishes are all ultra healthy. For example, their breakfast burrito is vegetarian. And they pretty much serve the best bacon I've ever tasted. And from time to time, they'll have some fine dime breezys working so that's always a plus.

Yeah, it was cool. Not a new joint by any means, but the seared ahi tuna sandwich was great, all you could hope for at a nice corner diner. My soda was always full, and we just chilled. Not gonna Wow you, not gonna dissapoint.

tipical menu and atmosphere for a diner. not bad for what it is. probably the best diner in the area.
