Nawab of India
This is one of the best Indian establishments on the Westside, if not in all of Los Angeles. The Garlic Naan alone is worth a visit; hot bread melts in your mouth. The rest of the menu is great, too, and features the staples you've come to love: chunks of chicken, lamb, beef and fresh vegetables in a variety of sauces and cooked until tender. Many of the dishes were designed with your health in mind, which might alleviate your concerns as you finish off your second helping. The staff is friendly, efficient and full of suggestions for those who can't decide. Please call ahead for hours.
I ve tried many Indian Restaurants in NY, San Diego, LA and this place is hands down some of the best Indian food I ve ever had. The service is very quick and they are super nice and will special order for you. The presentation of the food is excellent as well. The only thing is that they do probably over charge. But I always leave with left-overs, so I typically get two meals out of one. It s great for a special occasion.
The food is great and the place is really clean. My favorite dish is the Chicken Vindaloo, for starters I like the vegetable samosas and the stuff they bring out before you order is great (not sure what its called). The Chicken Tika Masala (mind the spelling) is a bit too creamy for my liking but its ok. Definitely the best Indian food I've had here in the west-side so far.
All I can say is omg. Never have I thought that I could be screwed so badly like I screw people when they buy a house with me. But I guess karma bit me badly!!! I ordered two different dished (butter chicken and tiki masala) and they were exactly the same - crappy!!! Oh, and the drink I ordered, some indian drink tasted like my curry too!!! Believe me...do not go to this restaurant...I think I am going to have to sit on the toilet for the rest of the night. You do not understand this pain in my stomach...I have never felt this before even thought I only ate a little of each and a sip of my laxitive drink
For many years, this is my place for Indian food. I could joke that I moved back to Santa Monica after 10 years to get closer to Nawab and frequent it more often, but as I have traveled around the US for work/other, all other places I've eaten at have not been as good!
The food is always consisently mouth-watering, and the staff and service is friendly, responsive.
The food wasn't disgusting, but I would not call it good either. The prices were way too high for so-so Indian food. $14 for potatoes and cauliflower is asking a bit much, especially since Indian food is generally pretty cheap. Service was lacking also. The bread is pretty good though. Would NOT go back!
