Hillstone Restaurant, Santa Monica

The food is consistantly good. I enjoy the trout mostly. The appetizers are very tasty. Michael is one of the best servers I've met. I haven't encountered any bad service on any of my many visits. At peak hours it can get a little noisy. Steve O.

I always eat the Hickory Burger when dining here. It may not be on the menu so be sure to ask for it by name. Great Burger with shredded cheese, canadian bacon and fantastic hickory sauce. The environment is low lit and very comfortable. There are flat screen displays so you can watch your meal being made. Be sure to call ahead to check if it's busy, as it always is. The Hot Fudge sundae is the best!

This was the best place we ate our entire trip. Great service, ( although there was a long wait) the food was fantastic, and the service was even better. At Houston's the service staff is very team oriented, everyone is helping others out. I have worked in restaurants for many years and never seen such a well organized staff.

Make no mistake about it, Houston's is definitely a chain restaurant - the one in Santa Monica, however, does its best to disguise this fact. It's decent food at a decent price. There are definitely better restaurants in the area, but if you're looking for a reliable, reasonably priced menu, Houston's isn't a bad choice. Just stay away from the Caesar's salad.

It's a bit weird, definately a chain restaurant menu but allusions to something on the higher end with the decor (in Santa Monica at least) and prices that are too much for what they offer. The BBQ ribs are infact very very good (unless your from the Memphis school of ribs). The other food is hit and miss and on the expensive side. If you chose wisely you'll be happy (but not blown away).

From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendly staff at Houstons. The greeters are outstanding and friendly, the servers are the same, the food is to die for... but MAKE A RESERVATION- this place is too popular and is ALWAYS on a wait during dinner

The ribs here are so tender that they fall right off the bone! Also, the french fries are to die for...as are the desserts. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I wouldn't have guessed it, but the Spicy Tuna appetizer at Houston's in Santa Monica is fantastic! The meals are consistently good and, for a chain restaurant, the menu has all great options to chose from.

Houston's has one of the most consistently good menu's around. The spinach dip is a must!
