Cantalini's Salerno Beach, Playa del Rey

Outstanding --- this is what all neighborhood Italian restaurants hope to be; outstanding food at at excellent value. Please keep this a secret.

I went there for the first time, while I passed by the joint many time. The ambiance was superb, but the waiter seemed snobbish. The minestrone soup was fresh, maybe too fresh; some of the vegetables weren�t fully cooked. The dinner roles weren�t tasty. And the Spaghetti Bolognese was very flavorful, but I didn�t like the spaghetti pasta texture, it tasted like a mistake. The wine choice was slightly too bitter than should be expected from a Pinot Noir. I will be back to give them a second chance to improve the experience. Have eaten there 3X with family, over past 3 years. Which is about as often as we visit LA area. And have not been dissapointed and look forward to returning.Cannot go wrong with pasta or beef, and good wine is available at very reasonabled cost.
