Good Food, Great Ambiance

My girlfriend heard about Duke's and was excited to try it. We first went on a Sunday, hoping to have lunch. They have a brunch buffet instead of a lunch menu on Sunday's. Since we had already had breakfast, we chose to come back for a dinner. The restaurant is very comfortable inside. All the tables have a great view of the ocean. It is nicely decorated inside, classy but casual. Dress is anywhere from casual to suits.
They provide valet parking for $3, or you can find a spot on the street for free (no parking meters).
On Wednesday, they have half price wines. Any bottle of wine (up to $60) is half price. A nice option if you like wine.
The meals are simple. The waiter lets you know the fish that are in season. You then pick how you want it prepared. They have about 8 options listed on the menu. One option consists of black beans with guacamole, mashed potatos, your selected fish, and a little spice. Another option consists of a little salsa, rice, and your fish selection. Salads or baked potatos are extra. The meals are listed at $20-30. Ours were each $27. The food was good, but not a $27 meal. Obviously, you are paying for the ambiance.
If you want a good meal combined with a great location, I recommend Dukes in Malibu. If you just want a great meal, there are plenty of great restaurants a short drive away for less money.
