Maybe we just hit a bad night. The iced seafood appetizer was excellent but 3 out of the 4 entrees at our table were over salted or very oily. And the service was abominable. I'll grant the setting is wonderful but you can find a nice spot on the beach somewhere else and not pay so much for a mediocre experience.

We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/07
We loved this place. The location, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the food, especially the food. We are recommending this place to others...I found it based on a recommendation. Everyone should see this place...it's truly what Malibu and California coast dinners are all about!!!

Not worth the price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/07
My husband has run many country clubs so I am used to fine dining and great atmosphere. The big plus for this restaurant, on a Thursday evening was the jazz quartet they had playing inside. Very nice but completely contradicted the atmosphere of very mediocre wait staff, children running around everywhere and not very good food. And for the price, the food was really unacceptable. The view is beautiful but there are other places to go for that. Would only possibly return for a cocktail and view. Never again to dine.

A wonderful day
By bandkr, 7/26/07
We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It was so relaxing to watch the ocean as we ate our lunch. I would go back if we return to California one day.

Romantic Getaway
By JamesH, 6/27/07
If you just want to eat, don't come here. But if you want a special time with your special friend or family, this is your place. Come in, place your order, then grab some peanuts and a drink and hang out at the beautiful beach. If you bring your kids, have them wear shorts and sandals, as they will want to play in the water while your meal is being prepared. Enjoy...

Great Food, Service in need of a Life Preserver
By Bob Zagat, 2/3/07
This beach cafe is charming. A great place for a date or special family event. I have been coming here for years and it seems that the service has slipped away to near nothing. Which is unfortunate beacause the food and and setting are fantastic. If you can bear being left alone with out beverage refills, waiters that do not know who ordered which entree, cold coffee, and just being left alone, give it a try. Perhaps the buffet is the way to go so at least you can help yourself. Bob Morris should try paying a little better attention to this Malibu Landmark.

Overpriced and Mediocre
By Jody, 6/19/06
After going to many of the Malibu alternatives (Dukes, Gladstones, even La Salsa) I have to say that the poor service and management alone make this restaurant a no. I guess some people like the free peanuts while you are waiting (over an hours for us) for your seat.
