Take it from Cosmo Cardenas, this place rules in the Pasta world. Seafood fettuccini rivals those Sicilian Grottos back in Sicilia Great wines ansd desserts also, ask for ricardo the waiter, he rocks.

It was May 2000 I arrived to L.A from Italy, with no English command at all, previous to my departure a friend of mine from Italy recommended me to stop by Caffe Carrera, and ask for Mr Antonio Carrera ( Signor Carrera) the owner. He would have helped me to settle down in L.A. However he did came to pick me up at L.Ax, took me straight to the restaurant and ask me if I was hungry so he gave me first a Moretti beer to chill out as I was a little embarrassed and than he had his Chef cooking something from me. Well I spent 3 and half years in L.A and I considered that Restaurant my American family as I'd go there every time I was feeling lonely and Armando as well the ( scary waiter) as some people would say treated me like a brother giving me some advices and if course FOOD I'll say. I Live now in Sydney Australia, almost 6 years have gone ever since but I will always have in my mind Mr Carrera, Riccardo( his son) and Armando who did the best they could to make me feel home in a tough city like Los Angeles. After a long shopping day we all were tired and hungry. My sister suggested to eat at Caffe Carerra went. it was my first time there but I enjoyed the food a lot. the service was good too. After that we continued to shop.

I found Caffe Carerra on the net and was pleasantly surprised with its small town character, excellent service, and great food. I will definitely go back.

Caffe Carrera has to be the best kept secret in Beverly Hills/LA The food is like back in the old country, Sicilia that is. Armando, and his Chef Ricardo cooked up and served up a delightful meal this past week. You must try the mussels they are out of this world, couldnt get enough.

If you want a waiter to be sarcastic, and who will pick a fight with you over a simple question, this is the place for you. If want to be humiliated,embarrased on a date or in front of your boss, this is the place for you. If you like the feeling that the waiter is spiting in your food, this is the place for you. If you enjoy tastless dry chicken this is the place for you.

Delightful food, wine, ambience, personal service by the owner who will cater to you like you are family. Romantic. Quiet place for that celebrity that is looking for a moment away. I came to know the owner really well and he treats his customers to an experience they wont forget. I have been going there for 6 yrs now. I ate there so often that the owner now recognizes my voice on the phone. The food is consistant. I highly recommend it. I took my future wife there on our first date back in 1996 and we would and still continue to go at least once a month including those specials days that a boyfriend or husband shouldn't forget. The owner will even be catering my wedding next month. If you want to be treated with a personal touch and enjoy an incredible meal tailored just for you, an excellent wine and champagne list and tiramisu that is to die for then look no further, Cafe Carrera is the place. Yes the summer wind came blowin in to LA, so we decided to sit outside for what was the best meal I have had in LA in a long tim. I highly recommend the ossobuco and the Lentil soup, but do not fill up on thre bread it is great.
