I WENT TO YAMASHIRO FOR DINNER WITH MY WIFE LAST YEAR AND THE FOOD WAS NOT GREAT AND I WAS SURPRISE BECAUSE ALL THESE TALK ABOUT THIS PLACE. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT AND THE VIEWS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL.OVER ALL I WOULD NOT GO BACK.
This is a romantic restaurant nestled in the hills of Hollywood with a dynamic view of all of Los Angeles. You'll want reservations and an occasion to celebrate at this restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food is truly a feast for the palate. And don't forget to visit the garden!
Very nice on a stormy night. and the view. We had a great time and the service was wonderful. Food was very good and a nice presentation. This is not your local Sushi Bar. It is a Fine Dining Experience. Wonderful Flavors. We had a very large party and have been there more than once. Thank You for the great time.

worst valet service-longer time to get your car than to eat your food.Food is OK but you dont want to pay that much for it if you have a good sushi resto that is comparable, you are just paying for the view.
I saw some of the 5 star reviews and they must be made by the staff from threats by management. Because, this is definetly not a 5 star place! Except for just the views! We found this place by accident and we so impressed by the building and the views. Don't expect much when it comes to the food. The Sushi at Ralphs is about the same. And the seafood platter is so small for $39 that I was still hungry afterwards and eating from my friends plate. They don't serve bread. The service is okay. Just a bit slow because I guess you're suppose to be there for the long courses. The Smore dessert was incredible!
This is the best place in Los Angeles to eat and have a great view and ambiance. However, don't expect much in the food department. And if you are in a hurry then don't go. Our experience was about 3 hours and we had a play to go to. We were all hungry after the experience and we had appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. The portions are small and the prices are big! But, you practically get a 190 degree view of LA. The interior garden restaurant area is also beautiful if you don't get a window seat.
Was in town for the weekend a while back and wanted to have a nice dinner for two. The food was great, the service was awesome and the view was beautiful. To top it off, I had handsome company and great convo, so all in all, the evening was perfect.
A bit pricey (but not as pricey as some other sushi places in the area), but you get what you pay for; food, service and atmosphere.
I will definitely be back :)
