Yamashiro, Los Angeles

What a great experience! The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the view was AMAZING! We went there before a show at the Pantages and the staff was so accomodating and did everything that they could to make sure we got to Dirty Dancing on time. All around wonderful experience!

Hit & miss for me. Awesome view, very nice historic building, ok to good food/serive. Try a slower week night if your coming for dinner and things seem to be better. Weekends come for drinks and the view.

It was my first time going here, it was fantastic. I love the view, the service and the food. I know its a bit expensive but you get what you pay for.. quality and taste. I love the romantic setting, just wish we would have had better seating. Overall, it was amazing!

I had dinner there on Sunday March 9, 2008. I knew that Yamashiro's is not known for there exquisite cuisine, but my date had never been there and thought it would be a great place on a beautifully clear night. The service was very good. Our server was attentive and quick with our demands. I had the Lobster seafood plate and she had the Rib Roast. Both dishes were satisfactory and enjoyable. We were sat righ tin the corner table with a view that looked West and South. It was a very good night.

We went there last night for a romantic dinner. The staff sat us next to a table of 15 that was probably there for their office Christmas party. They were loud and obnoxious and more suited for TGI Fridays. I would think that the staff would know to sit a large group like this in a banquet type room. Or at least, ask them to tone it down. The food was ordinary. The sushi was small and tasteless, the steak was presented a la Sizzler, and the service was slow and inattentive. If we ever go back, it will just be for drinks at the bar.

The WORST service ever!!!! The view was great however, our waitress was rude, EXTRA slow and ignored us all night. My wine glass had lip stick on it (from someone else), Sushi was dry and we found a few ants on the platter, I accidently dropped my fork and the waitress took a whole 10 minutes before she asked someone else to bring me a new one.. A fly also flew into my water (I can pass that as an accident) and when I asked for our bill, the waitress took an additional 20 minutes. I was extremely angry because she nearly had us miss the first half of our concert.. We had to go to the host and have them print our bill. Other then a spectacular view and a great steak salad, the place needs to shape up and work on being attentive and clean.

This is 1 out of my 2 most favorite Restaurants... I save it for special occasions only. If you want a romantic atmosphere at night and expensive taste, make this restaurant your first choice.

Not authentic Japanese cuisine and passable asian fare. The view is awesome so skip the food and head for the bar. You will thank me for it.
