Kate Mantilini is alway's a place where you can go to get great food no matter what time it is. We love the great burgers, and when available the French Onion soup. I recently had their Arugula steak, which is a sliced New York on a balsamic reduction, and topped with arugula and shaved parmesan cheese.Their desserts are fantastic, try the Hot Fudge Sundue. The service was good, the server was knowledgeble and attentive.
I have been coming here for years, Kate's is always a place you can rely on.
Might be an ok place to take your grandparents to, but I wouldn't eat here again. The restaurant was empty on the Tuesday night I visted. It looks great from the outside, with nice secluded booths on the inside, but the food was horrible. Average diner faire like grilled chicken and meatloaf, but not executed well at all.
-The food is at best OK, the service comes repleat with plenty of attitude. In short everyones doing you the big favor for the smallest of requests and management could care less. Expensive? Yes. Dirty bathrooms, yes. But if snob appeal and second class treatment is your cup you might like this place.
This place tries to sell star quality, but fails misserably-you can do better at Nate and Al's
As a Los Angeles Native, I have to say Mantilinis has always been a fave of mine. I first went there at the age of 19 and the servers were always gracious to us young crowd. Now in my 30's, I love to go there whenever I am in town. Don't think it's pricey for the food you get because if you compare it to other places in LA, it's perfect! If you are a native or a tourist... this is a definate must!
The hustle and bustle of Tinseltown, an eighty foot counter, celeb sightings galore. I'm not much for starfu**ing but man was it fun to be part of the atmosphere on a Wednesday at lunchtime. The turkey cobb salad is absolutely to die for, and our server, Liz, was an absolute doll. Don't go there if you're a stick in the mud. Prepare to have an experience. It. Is. Fun. Beautiful design, beautiful people, and lest we forget, the food was delish. I'd say wait for a booth but I kinda preferred being tossed right in the middle of the mix. Great experience.
