Great empanadas! I've had the spicy beef, potato and cheese, and spinach. All were very tasty. The three made for a pretty hearty lunch. Total cost - 10 bucks. it's all fried though - so don't go if you're on a diet or particularly health conscious. Also, it has a pretty charming interior inside the tiny storefront.

A Bit of Argentina in L.A.
By ,
An unobtrusive storefront on Sawtelle Blvd just south of Venice Blvd, this eat-in and take-out restaurant features a wide variety of meat and vegetable empanadas (Argentine-style filled turnovers) that are great for a party or a quick meal. We love to order a dozen at a time, especially when we have company, and bring them home hot and tasty. There are a few other Argentinean dishes as well, but the empanadas account for the lion's share of the business. This little place receives my highest recommendation. Note: Only cash is accepted.

Yum!
Their mouth-watering empanadas are worth the 20 mile drive on the 405 North, even with traffic. I used to live within a mile of this place, but still make at least one trip ever 2 months or so. I highly recommend the potato&cheese or the spinach version. I coverted all of my San Diego cousins as well.

Simply delicious, worth the trip!
By ,
This place serves up mouth-watering empanadas like nowhere else. It's a bit pricey, however: each empanada costs almost $3 and it's easy to eat a couple. The actual seating area is a bit small (a few tables) but quite nice decor. If you're looking for a delicious full meal or a tasty snack, stop by. Parking is only in the back.
