http://www.locandaveneta.net/news.php Click here to read our press release! One of LA's best Italian restaurants, Locanda Veneta aims to transport you to Venice, Italy. Where the freshest and often deceptively simplest ingredients are combined and cooked into art. The cozy room, often dotted with celebs, is elegant but there's nothing fussy about the menu. Here you'll find favorites such as a fresh-vegetable minestrone; wild mushroom risotto; and spinach and ricotta cheese gnocchi. Garlic, fresh herbs and olive oil dress many of the pasta, meat and fish dishes; and the veal scaloppini gets a different preparation every night. When an Italian spot is as classic as this, how can you skip a dessert of tiramisu? Our extensive wine list complements your meal, with selections mainly from Italy, France and California.
Went to this place during the week worst food ever!!! place was dirty prices were far to high for mediocre food . pasts overcooked . lasagna signature dish burned and sent to table. there were many plates going back to the kitchen i couldn't keep up. burned 100 dollars through my wallet . manager/.owner was a complete ass . i do not understand the to other positive reviews for this old hat establishment . they either are too drunk to remember the food or its part of the family stay away hope it closes soon as the dept of health will do it for them.
The food was no longer Italian. Restaurant had raised its prices and hired inexpensive Mexican help. The recipes did not taste Italian. A pasta dish with shrimp and mushrooms was as heavy as it gets with a slimy sauce. Salad had avocados and nuts in it and no balsamic taste. Simply awful food--I could not finish eating it.
It is sad because this used to be my favorite restaurant in L.A., a landmark over decades. It is to be avoided now.
Locanda Veneta is by far the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is scrumptious. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! The service is spectacular -- they even remember you months after you come in. Though the price is more on the high side, it's worth it. I'd much rather pay $25 for the best bowl of pasta than $10 for something mediocre that I could do without. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I go out of my way to go to Locanda. Try it out. You won't be disppointed!
Here you will find young actors, hipsters and other famous folks. The restaurant features comfortable booths and simple American food.
The meatloaf is a favorite, and hard pressed to be beaten anywhere in town. Don't look for anything too ...
