Super Tortas

Description

Super Tortas is one of those spots where the remarkable taste of the food practically makes you forget that you have thrown decorum and modesty out the window. Here, the portions are large, messy and nothing short of heavenly. Probably not the place for that important power lunch or that critical first date. Just a great spot for great food. Among the menu favorites are the sandwiches prepared with crispy rolls and filled with fresh meats, lettuce and succulent mayonnaise. The grilled rib eye, grilled chicken and pork are all prepared to perfection. Try the Machaca (a mix of shredded beef, scrambled eggs, onions, peppers and guacamole), it's messy and irresistible.

I thought the food here was pretty average, but I could be wrong. I wish thier borritos were better.

Best Tortas in Lincoln Heights
By ,
You have to try Camacho's Tortas in Lincoln Heights on North Broadway. It's a little hole in the wall place. Just opened a few months ago, but I guarantee you won't be disappointed and worth the drive. These are made with freshly baked french bread, carne asada grilled as you order, cilantro, onions, avocado and home made salsa of your choice. Very simple but very tastie. You won't be satisfied with one!

One of LA's hidden little treasures. The tortas are by far the best I've had in any LA Mexican eatery. The tacos with the guacamole mix and sauce are extremely good as well. Try the carne asada torta with a side of tacos. They are not the soft tacos, but the hard shell (fluta) tacos of your choice of either carnitas, chicken or carne asada. Stop by, I guarantee it will become a favorite of yours. The people are just as good and always happy to serve new customers. I believe this is the Orginal Super Tortas.

Let me start off by saying, The Taconator, your one true idiot to give a review to a place you have never been. To all who wonder about this place, it is fantastic. They serve all types of mexican plates and they are amazing. Food is made to order and the staff are very friendly. There is only one downfall to this secific location and that is parking, then again its like that everywhere in this area. If you get a chance to stop by I suggest you give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

Best tortas in town!
By ,
These are pretty good tortas, but I get the funny feeling they don't like asians. The owner, in particular, has never smiled or greeted me as she has with other patrons who tend to be hispanic. I've had better reception from the nice folks at El Pollo Loco on the other side of the street.
