LA Fonda Restaurant & Lounge, Los Angeles

this review is written for the new management. get rid of the chef. he does nothing for you. your food is tremendously bland, horrifically expensive (crappy food for two folks turned out to be about $80, including tip. luckily, i didn't have an alcoholic drink. Why? Because my date's diet coke was $6 and if the food bombed, i know what to expect of your drinks) for patrons: if you do choose to brave this pit of desperation (disparately trying to bring in middle class european american folks), don't sit in the balcony. you will rarely see your server, chips & salsa, etc. (which, after experiencing the Fonda Cuisine, may be a blessing). but the music was ok!

Food is okay. Maraichi music is so boring it is much better only as background music. Show is painfully boring to watch. blah..

La Fonda actually did close down but, it has reopened and has been remodeled. It has a new menu (excelent food), new decor, and it has Mariachi Monumental de America performing every night. Everyone should really check it out.

It was sad to hear that they closed down in their Wilshire location but I just found out they are opening up in Downtown Los Angeles in five months! I can't wait! This is the best mariachi ever and they are always so friendly. My family and I have great memories at La Fonda!

Miss Nati and the Camperos very much. Waiting for the new place to open up. No other sound greater then Mariachi Music.It Awakens the soul,Lifts the heart, brings joy to everyone just to listen. No matter what language you speak.They are the best and a must see show, when in L.A. VIVA MARIACHI !!!!

LA FONDA HAS BEEN THE BEST ! ITS SAD TO KNOW I HAVE NO PLACE TO LISTEN TO MARACHI'S ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT, BUT I'M WAITING PATIENTLY FOR THE GRAND OPENING! ALL THOSE OTHER COMMERCIAL SPOTS HAVE NO COMPETITION WITH LA FONDA DE LOS CAMPEROS!!!!!

I LOVE La Fonda - what a fabulous place. The mariachi bands are amazing, the theatre/restaurant historic, and the food is very good (just good old southern california mexican, nothing fancy, but satisfying and delicious). Completely worth it, you'll have a blast!

It's an okay restaurant, not worth its prices. Food is okay nothing out of the ordinary, their menu is very limited and their service not the best. I truly expected it to be better than what it was. I am very dissapointed with that experience.

This is definitely the place to take someone you love or just that someone special in your life. Not only is the food excellent - but the energy brought by the Mariachi Los Camperos - is like no other. You definitely have to experience La Fonda - it is like a small piece of Mexico - where you can escape from the daily routines of life - for just a few hours. Don't forget to sing along with the Mariachi's - to some of Mexico's finest music!! Luis Suarez

Although the food is a little on the expensive side, the incredibly talented and spirited Mariachi and Mexican dancers give a stupendous show and make this restaurant a must see for toursits and locals alike. Anywhere else, you'd probably have to pay at least $50 for the show alone. Drinks are really good, especially the Cadillac Margaritas which are smooth and hit hard. So be sure to eat the carne asada or the chicken enchildas. Both are excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. Planning on going again tonight with my out of town guests who couldn't get enough. Good place to park is the parking lot next door.
