Surprisingly, it's not easy to find gourmet Mexican in the City of Angels. Here's one place, however, that serves up high-quality food with an accent on fruits of the sea. The crowds flock to this Westside branch of the East L.A. original (La Serenata de Garibaldi) for the shrimp quesadillas, fish enchiladas and a seviche that's delicious. The owners take reservations, but the place is usually full if you go there on impulse, so be prepared to wait. It's worth it, even the salsas are out of this world.
I enjoy this restaurant very much . We have been going to this restaurant for years. We travel from Orange County to this fine restaurant because of its authentic mexican cuisine. The flavors are very authentic. It is very elegant but yet it has a family ambiance.
I have recommended this restaurant to a large number of people and everyone comes back thanking me. The food is excellent. The shrimp burritos and enchiladas cannot be beat and anything with their green tomatillo sauce is tasty! Try it and you won't be dissappointed...
The food is always fresh and delicious. I had salmon with garlic sauce, it was not spicy, just very fresh and tasty. The service is good. The tortillas are my favorite, warm, freshly made corn tortillas, yum!
The carrot soup is to die for, but everything is fantastic. Check it out. It's been several years since I ate there, but any time a friend is going to Los Angeles, I rave about it. I haven't heard a complaint yet.
The food was authentic and spicy. The chicken was tender and the rice and beans were flavorful. The ambiance was fancy and had a lot of color. We got a lot of attention when we first arrived but the service dwindled as our meal came. The price was fair for the food and the area.
i was introduced to la serenata by one of my really good friends. he goes in several times a week and now i do too. the food is absolutely phenomenal and i am personally in love with the chicken burrito. if everyone knew about this place, all the other mexican food restuarants would be shut down. it's really cozy and you feel at home in la serenata! i love the crew and i have nothing negative to say about this place!
