Polka, a sweet Polish restaurant near where Eagle Rock fades into Glendale, is that rarity in Los Angeles, an authentic, home-style Eastern European restaurant of the kind so common in Cleveland and Chicago. Polish cooking is honest, fresh and homey, based on good meat and fresh vegetables...
One of the best places to eat in Los Angeles.
More than comfortable, this family run restaurant
has the best Polish food, a great atmosphere and
it's like having dinner with a Polish family.
The best Eastern European cuisine in all of LA.
Good food, interesting atmosphere and nice people.
Been going here for a few years. Many a visit has been thwarted because they were so busy. The place is very nice and people like it! I am surprised they have not expanded seems they have the clientele to fill a bigger place. The owners are very nice people and good cooks! A winning combination! Give them a try...maybe lunch time is easier to get a table.
I grew up in a Polish family, so I've had my share of pierogies over the years -- from grocery stores, delis, restaurants, and home cooked. Polka makes simply the most amazing pierogies I've ever had. Our meal took forever to arrive after we ordered, but it was worth the wait. Prices were reasonable. We also liked the kitschy decor and cozy atmosphere. This little place was packed on a Sunday night, so I recommend a reservation.
This is the best deal in town for the dough. The food is VERY good and it's underpriced. If you're looking for a break from eating Mexican-Vietnamese-Korean fusion and want to eat something you remember as actual food, come here.
